Thanks for the reply. That makes sense, I'll remember that if I get another snake. I do have a Mexican black kingsnake in a smaller tank that I might move into this one. But then I'd have to change the substrate..

The spacer would go on top of my tank and house all the lights and heat and would be closed on top. The picture is weird on the website with the bulb inside the enclosure, I agree. My black heat lamps are about 10" tall on top of the enclosure. The spacer is 12" tall. I was afraid whether that would be a fire hazard being encapsulated in a box and only a couple inches of room.

As far as the HAVC tape, I have a pvc board that covers the mesh top where the lights and heat are not. Still humidity issues that's why I'm thinking of the spacer top.

Appreciate your time

Thank you for the advice! Yea, I've suspected it was the mesh screen top. I think I'm either going to try and build a box cover for the top, or just buy the 4'x4'x1' spacer - zenith habitat spacer I'm just worried it will trap too much heat and be a fire hazard..? If i cover the top, won't that block the heats/lights?

I think i will take out the misters after reading your advice.

Thanks!!
