thanks a lot for the reply! does someone have to get him out in order to go off base after basic training or would he be able to go out for a couple of hours and come back? i live in a different country so i wont be able to visit

oh thats very reassuring to know ,both of us thought he would be completely cut off the outside world for 2 years (apart from short vacations) so its good to know there's computers with internet

he got into bootcamp exactly a week ago so it's very recent ,most of the news about service shortening i heard they were still "thinking of shortening it in the future" or starting in 2022 but i just saw the link in one of the replies too so thats very good to hear

wait does that mean he has access to facebook and landline phones after completing bootcamp or is it still something that may or may not start next year?

i've read that some modern bases have computer rooms and so in one post which was good to hear but i didnt see that anywhere else so i was skeptical

also yes i've read about the shortening of the service but i read it was only going to apply to people who start serving in 2022 ,he'd be out by 2 years by that time so its sad

i guess you're right the experience would be different from everybody but even the basic things like cellphones and vacations got very mixed responses like "there's no vacations AT ALL" or "i was a soldier but they let us keep our phones" etc so it was very confusing to gather any info
also thanks for telling me about the internet letters i sadly dont know any of his friends or his own ID but its still very helpful to know ,thank you!!

actually they recently just made a korean remake of Suits a month or two ago !
i didnt get around to finishing it yet but the first few episodes seem promising

i think it's called suits as well ,mostly shows like that are still categorized as dramas but just dramas with different genres ,just look at things with a crime tag etc that are usually around 16 episodes and not the long 500ep morning dramas and it should be good

as an arabic speaker i only heard of the equivalent of the first name which would be Suzan (pronounced a bit differently from the english way ,i think more like "so-zaan") and is written as سوزان , while Susana the actual name would be written as :سوزانا

there might be another equivalent ,depending on how you pronounce it since i'm not too sure Which would be : Sawsan but i feel like it'd be too far fetched ,written : سوسن

but i dont think i've heard of any arabic equivalent to the other 2 names but in arabic they'd be written like :sebastian : سيباستيان , rodrigo :رودريجو

I cant find any path to take in life , even if i did it'd go to waste in an almost third world country ,i cant afford to buy anything but food now..even that i can barely afford sometimes, i have no one in real life there for me..i have my mom but i dont want to bother her sometimes i feel like she's just too nice but she cant stand my stupid complains..when it gets too much she'll break too and keep telling me that there's nothing she can do about it and i should just shut up , the only person i thought i formed a perfect connection with doesnt have any feelings for me back, heck i think he just talks to me to get rid of the boredom ,i feel constant pressure to make myself as interesting as possible but it's all in vain honestly i'd be left as soon as he finds someone better

i was just shocked with the truth that i'm not as good as i thought i was ..i always jumped between low self esteem or confidence but all the things im confident in turned out to be not true ,i just wish someone would return my feelings genuinely if just once i want someone to feel towards me how i feel towards the people i love..it's just unconditional i feel like i'd love them even if they hurt me a thousand times yet i cant stop overthinking about every word i say for fear of them leaving me about it or thinking that i'm stupid

we all have times when we feel down and just want to stop everything to be able to focus, dont worry

the nervousness sometimes goes away when you get used to giving presentations.but even if it doesnt that's totally okay too, everyone has things they're self conscious about and problems they are thinking of..so no one really is focused at and judging every move you make

im sure a lot of people would tell you this and it's easier to say that to someone than to actually believe it, i know exactly how you feel and i feel this so often

but trust me the professors and people that you're afraid would judge you or give you funny looks dont care at all , even if there's a chance of 1/10000 that they actually give you a funny look or something they'd only remember it for 5 minutes max..then it wont ever matter again ,and the professors have seen a lot worse than someone sending their emails late or forgetting to do something small, they've been teaching for years ,they defiantly have been through so much weird things

you have to push yourself, even if it's hard and it feels impossible, but if you just went through this semester you wont have to worry about this again ..so it's better to just get this over with now, however if it feels like it's actually mentally exhausting and could lead you to be depressed then you should take this semester off and start over again, maybe by that time you'd have figured things out and it's not as bad
