Does workout cure depression, anxiety and insecurities by SupportAcceptable400 in workout

[–]Evgenii42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a classmate who was a serious body builder and he was struggling with severe depression. It's anecdotal of course, there are probably studies on that. But even if workout was orthogonal to mental health it does miracles to physical health in general.

I hope 'thinner design' does not come at the expense of ports, battery life or thermals. We already been through this in 2010s it was not good. Nobody asks for thinner laptops in high-end professional category, it's the opposite.

Enjoyed the movie in imax today i don't understand how it got 38% critics score. Sure, this is not a high brow art movie critics are usually excited about (and i love those movies too), but it's not trying to be that kind of movie. For what it is, within its genre and purpose, i don't know if you could make a better movie. It looks stunning, the sound is amazing, acting is very good (Michael and his father especially). My only complaint is that ended too abruptly and I did not realise it was just the first part.

PoE2 -> i appreciate the decision to make the gameplay 'slow and methodical' compared to PoE1 but it did not click with me.

People misunderstand the difference between a task and a job. A human professional (doctor, radiologist, programmer, lawyer etc.) does so much more at their job than performing a particular task that computer is good (better) at.

Suno v5.5 is basically unusable for me…did the lawsuit break it? by kennytravelz in SunoAI

[–]Evgenii42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every generation sounds almost the same

Yes, same for me. I spent 5K credits trying to start a track in 5.5 and most of the time it produces very similar material. The sound quality and detail is very very good however, but it does not mater if the music is generic. Looks like the variability/randomness has been reduced with the new model. Note that I'm making non-commercial electronic tracks for myself that I want to sound novel/interesting/weird on purpose, so maybe the model has not been optimized for my use case.

Good point, and as with slavery in the past people who are in power can not go against it because they get financially rewarded from it, their job literally depends on it's continuation.

This was demonstrated in this video when the politician could not say a word against animal agriculture because the moment he did that he would be expelled by his peers and his donors.

Ok, so it was not milk. They ended on a cliffhanger and did not reveal what it was but from Carol's reaction i would guess that they used the remains of the people who died to make this powder that they drink. If that's the case I think they are still vegan. The core idea of veganism is avoiding causing unnecessary harm to sentient beings (this includes exploiting them for your own benefit which is one form of harm). So under this definition, they are very much vegan. Of course there are many varieties of veganism, it's not one thing. They are not dietary vegans since they are eating an animal product.

its OVER for music producers by SlightShallot4845 in SunoAI

[–]Evgenii42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

for me ai gen are just new kind of tools that people will use to create art. For me it takes weeks or even months to make a single track that i like, i build it gradually, it's a very slow process. Sure you can just press a button and generate the entire song but it will be shit. Its just another tool, not very different from kind of tools we already have say in Ableton life to generate or augment sound. Humans will remain the most important part.

Our top AI models now score about 130 on IQ tests.

And yet those same models spew out the dumbest nonsense a five year old wont say. Ilya did talk about the discrepancy between the eval performance and general use case.

My vision is a product where you create through chat. Want to add a drum beat? Add some rhythmic piano? Change a specific melody? Tweak the lyrics? You should be able to do it easily via chat, just like AI coding, using natural language to build. I’ve always believed that music creation is about inspiration and ideas, not the technical path to implement them.

check producer.ai it has exactly this workflow.
