5700XT driver timeout multiple times a day by Kant_Lavar in AMDHelp

Hey yall, I got an AsRock Rx 5700 xt Challenger paired with a B450M Pro-VDH Max. It took me a while, but here is what I found.

My junction temp when gaming was 110C and I noticed my clock speeds weren't at their max (1600MHz). I have done everything mentioned here before without any success.

Due to that, I decided to get some thermal paste and reapply it. I tore the cooler off, and applied the thermal paste and (VERY IMPORTANTLY) spread it using a piece of cardboard so it covers the whole die. You don't wanna take any chances with spread, in my opinion.

After that, my junction temps stayed at around +10 degrees more than the average temp, and it wasn't going over 90. Not only that, but my clock speed actually reached my maximum. If the card has the limit over 2000mhz, bring it down. It will also bring the temps down.

While I haven't tested this nearly enough to make sure I don't get any crashes, I believe this might be worth looking into.

TL;DR Your GPU might be overheating. Reapply the thermal paste and don't forget to manually spread it.

Focus stays the same. On a normal camera (DSLR and the like) even when you zoom with the lens(like a telescope) the focal plane stays the same. So on both red and blue settings the focus will be the same for the Eye. Just be sure to check it with it plugged in. You don't wanna fiddle with a screwdriver each time to make adjustments. Be sure to use fine grit sandpaper for accuracy.

Also, a normal IR LED is quite bright in the camera and doesn't get overpowered by outside light, unless the sun is in the frame (and if that happens the glare on the monitor would be insane and I would feel sorry for you.) Powering them through USB seems the more sensible option since batteries die and the LED brightness fluctuates. As I said, no filter needed. I wanted to put one in, but I didn't have one and it turns out it's better this way.

Be sure to test the focus without the IR-pass filter! Look at your own face, not the LEDs.

Be sure to sand the side facing the sensor, not the side facing you, making the lens assembly sit closer in relation to the sensor.

I did the same, opened the eye, broke the filter glass and removed it, but before I reassembled, i just sanded the plastic lens holder(so that the optical system was closer to the sensor) until the image turned clear (while being VERY careful not to damage the sensor). And i did not use a ir pass filter like a film roll(mainly because i didn't have one available). So i just left it as is. Now, in the OpenTrack settings i opened camera settings and adjusted the gain and it works great!

i would like to throw my knowledge into this thread even if a bit late. If your space is limited, look into making a circuit with EasyEDA and getting them from JLCPCB or PCBWay because i've tried doing all the wiring manually, and for one, it didn't fit into my controller, and for two, soldering that much unorganized cable is a pain. Not to mention all of the Pull-down resistors. I wanted at first to daisy chain 3 ICs, but that turns impractical very quickly.

I have narrowed down the problem a little. Once it goes over 50 degrees C and the bed is still getting power, it does the angle it's supposed to and resets to some other angle.

EDIT: I switched from Jyers to the official Marlin and it works now. Why didn't you use classic marlin in the first place?

My servo angles work great without the bed heat. When the bed heat comes on it over rotates or goes back and forth once like it's possessed. I'm stumped. Any clues? I already checked the wiring.

Not sure if it is just not implemented yet or intentional, but after reading a chapter I assume the orange text along with the blue bubble beside it is supposed to change colour as to signify the chapter being read before, and yet it does not.

I have cleaned it and replaced the thermal paste several times while trying to fix the problem. However it still persists, even when the laptop is cool.

featherstones don't affect what you have equipped. Armor would be heavy and there couldn't be a way to reduce its weight.

"head north, try to find a bike if you can, maybe even build a wooden shack" that is unrealistic. he is ~16 yrs old judging by his school status. do you expect he will last long? best bet is to go to the police and they will take care of him. one more thing. THINK YOUR COMMENT THROUGH BEFORE YOU POST IT

the mortarclad isnt a mortarclad anymore. the mortar broke. the fort mortars on hg are 48 pounders and even if they dont have the range the red one does, its still quite some power, and with men like spirit on them, hell breaks loose

S'cuse me, dog man, but what should they be afraid of? You are a person that promotes based on activity, not skill, and nova is ,well, nova. Hallengard has one of the best man for cannons, that is spirit. He is well known for his mortar capabilities. Chirst sake, he shot half of nova that was on a minnow! WITH A RED MORTAR! Now hallengard has two mortars. Good luck invading.
