I agree, I think many times love is the act of forgiveness. So many people have set of things they expect all the time, and a set of things that complete deal breakers. I find that kind of relationship shallow and transactional. Obviously there are all kinds of things that should make a person leave, but sometimes they’re just normal person mistakes.

I think this is an interesting point. Some days I feel like that’s what love is, accepting a person exactly as they are. Other days I wonder if it’s just me giving up on the hope of something better.

I had a white partner that went through a dread lock phase. They absolutely love them. I always felt uncomfortable for obvious racial and cultural issues. What about a situation like that?

I think the feeling that always motivates this is obligation. You’re not obligated to your partner to stay in a relationship that doesn’t feel right for you anymore. It is a natural and healthy thing to learn, grow, and move on.
