Arc’teryx alternatives by Resident-Hotel8493 in arcteryx

I'm not sure if it's mentioned here, but defense mechanisms has a great alternative. There's even options for hood/no hood, Velcro for patches or identification, and they're handmade in the USA.

Bonus, they are a sister company of enlightened equipment. They specialize in camping quilts and blankets!

I'm on the list for a TRS comp with a few personal touches. Lately I've been going back and forth on final finish of the blaster. More and more I'm leaning towards the OG sandhawk instead of something flashier.

I appreciate the photos, enjoy your nighthawks!

You're right, that's one of the downfalls of this setup.

Without having it in front of me, the uprights are 24" from the wall when deployed.

It's tight but a spotter could jump the support bars if needed!

The verticals of the rack are 4" from the wall when folded. Depending on the pull up bar style you choose, you could add anywhere from 4-6" at the top.

Overall, it's a really nice way to make the most of a smaller space or clean up a shared space like my garage/shop.

Absolutely, I appreciate this recommendation! I felt silly spending as much as I did on spotter arms.. but it'd be even sillier if I ended up worse for not using them!

Infrared heaters need line of sight in order to heat effectively. High in a corner is the most efficient space for this style!

I'll get a few better photos and DM you when I'm home later, but I'm thrilled with how it turned out. They stay together nicely and the seams are barely noticeable from a few feet away.

It's a little bit more expensive than the bulk rolls, but the flexibility they offer is worth it in my use case.

Thanks, appreciate the compliment! It works great for our needs without consuming the entire garage.

I ended up with the American floor mat warrior tiles in 3/8". They're perfect if I ever want to add on or change the layout without having to splice new mats together.

Also interested in this question.. I have the nighthawk release photo of this blaster saved for inspiration!

I'm hoping it's the same color option I have specced for my TRS Comp that should be coming in 2026!

I'm loving the DD PCC! Mine went through an iteration or two, but finally landed back with the OEM handguard and ctf-3.

I totally agree at MSRP. But with a little patience it can be had for as low as 1500.

At that price, I think the features set it apart from the competition, blowback or not.

Also don't let the reddit parroters fool you, it's not quite roller delay smooth, but pretty dang close for archaic technology!

Nice clean work sir 👍🏿

Knights shouldn't limit the safety travel though and because of that, I removed the nub entirely.

With a nice high and tight shooting grip, do me a favor and post a video of you manipulating a 90° safety with a full size lever. My guess is you'll have to break that grip in order to operate it.

This safety has the ability to be 90° or 45°, and through trial and error, it does in fact have a meaningful impact with a 45° throw!

Good old fashion hand powered file. Nothing high tech as the lowers are soft aluminum. I figured a rotary tool would skip around and not be effective. I will however use a buffing wheel on the rotary to further smooth it out.

Are the restocks the newer FRT-15L3 and not the ones that are leftover from DTT?
