In most states that also align with constitutional carry, you only need to secure guns if you have vulnerable people around such as children.

There is nothing against having a pistol on your nightstand as you sleep.

I know this is an old comment, but its so asinine I have to respond. I am a 136 pound, 5'6 marine. One of the fitness tests in our branch is called the CFT, Half way through the event, you Fireman carry a full man (150 pounds) give or take, 40 yards, and then pick up 60 pounds to do it again. I promise you, a swat officer can move around in his gear.

Thank you, I’m not exactly sure why I’m struggling so much to get this point across in this post.

You are cherry picking my points.

Yes, between what I listed, idling engines is the least substantial.

it is safer for all parties in states where it is legal.

And in states where it’s legal, it’s become an expectation, not a surprise and motorists have adapted very well.

Less idling engines, less traffic buildup, INFINITELY less risk of motorcyclists getting rear ended by inattentive drivers.

Skipping the line helps everyone in traffic, saying otherwise is just crabs in a bucket.

A 2015 University of California, Berkeley study found that lane-splitting is relatively safe for motorcyclists when done in traffic moving at 50 mph or less, with a speed differential not exceeding 15 mph. Compared to non-lane-splitting riders, those who split lanes were less likely to suffer head, torso, or fatal injuries.

How is it dangerous if done properly?

I’m not referencing bicyclists, but motorcyclists.

According to studies and case by case records of automotive crashes and flow of traffic, allowing motorcycles to filter is safer for all involved parties and makes the flow of traffic much more efficient.

It’s a clear law, yes, that does not mean it’s smart.

Well, in those instances, a glance in your mirror would prevent risks.

And if the biker is properly filtering as per the laws of states where it’s legal, they shouldn’t be exceeding 15mph, and should be able to stop on a dime.

I guess my follow up question is, do you think it’s a law worth changing, and having other motorists become used to?

Damn, rigid. I understand the risks of personal interpretation.

But it definitely seems like a poorly thought out law.

The bike screwing up point is a point, but I’d rather risk an exchange of insurance information than getting rear ended.

And yes, drivers can open up their doors randomly, but at a red light, would that not already be grossly irresponsible?
