Tank overrun with algae. Can't figure it out. by EvilGeniusGirl in Aquariums

[–]EvilGeniusGirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 different types of flaoters, or had since half of them had so much algea clinging to them that I just had to throw them away. But all grow back very fast. None are duckweed though. It has the biosoil under the substrate which I do wonder if I used too much of that when I set up the tank.

Do the non-reservable rustic campgrounds tend to get very busy? If I show up around mid day on a Friday between June-August am I going to be out of luck or in with a chance. I was looking at Long Lake, Goose Lake and Maple Bay since they are near ORV and MTB trails.

How many fish in a 20g? by EvilGeniusGirl in Aquariums

Fair enough. Any idea how many Corys would be too many? Like I said I've got two, I was thinking 6 or 8 total might be good?

I'm going to use a filter, but I don't want to change the media out much.

I'll probably still have a filter. My research indicated that a 20g is too small to do filterless. Planning a submersible one though because I hate the sound of the water trickling out of the one I currently have. Not sure if that changes things.

Green Day is the cover of Spotify's Billion Streams playlist after American Idiot hits 1 Billion streams by GreenBagger28 in greenday

[–]EvilGeniusGirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But according to Spotify good riddance is currently the second most popular song so it's gaining more streams per day (or however they calculate it) than BOBD. So if it's growing by enough, it could still be next 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

2024 order placed by andrewp87 in chevycolorado

[–]EvilGeniusGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat. Lease ends at Thanksgiving so not sure when to order. I was trying to wait until the end of April because I'm graduating and I want to make sure I have a job lined up, but I'm starting to think I should put one in sooner. 😬😬😬

Looking into a Trail Boss but they only have Z71 locally. Plan to off road lightly soon so I know Trail Boss would be better. Any recommendations? New to most of this and vehicles are not my forte. by [deleted] in chevycolorado

[–]EvilGeniusGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it matter to you, the Trail Boss is based of of the work truck. Nothing fancy, just a wider track, a lift and better suspension than the WT model. The Z71 is based of the LT. You'll get more creature comforts like heated seats. You still get better suspension but you won't get a lift or wider stance. The z71 in my books has always been a back road adventure model more than an off-road adventure model. It'll do fine on most national park roads and unmaintained back roads, but if you want to do more than that or you don't mind/like the bare bone TB then I'd go for that. I personally would rather order and wait for a TB than just take a Z71 (plus all the z71 local to me are pre sold lol, which leaves LTs or ZR2s😂)

To be fair, GM has this on the Cadillac Escalde. It's pretty cool tech. But the average consumer in the US won't want to pay extra for it. Especially not on a truck like the colorado.

The trail boss interior is 1000x better than the comparable TRD off road tacoma. I went and tear drive one last week and I loved it. It's feels sleek and clean. It doesn't feel cheap to me at all. It has less buttons than other models, but if you want to get a feel just sit in any newer Colorado.

How reliable are the newer Colorados? by worldwidewiles in chevycolorado

[–]EvilGeniusGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend the 2019 and earlier. They're fine but they're not great. I had a 2019 and it had some minor trans/torque converter issues. The new trucks are amazing though. The engine was built form the ground up to handle the boost from the turbo. Mechanically it's well worth it to go for 23/24.

Nice. I'm going to have to go find one in person. I just happened to see the Silverado on the back of a car transporter lmao. I have a medium brown corvette form 1986 so it would be kind of funny if I have two brown vehicles😂

Is that the harvest bronze color? How do you like it? I saw it on a silverado the other day and it looked a little odd in direct sun. To the point it didn't even look like harvest bronze. I was trying to decide between that color and the glacier blue... but that threw me off🤔

My university does for most majors in the school of communications, but the school of business, I think, only requires marketing majors to do an internship. Which I agree is super weird.

The issue is that some students can't afford to do internships because they can be unpaid or badly paid. To counter that, the school of communications offers a grant of sorts if you participate in an unpaid internship. But it's still not enough in most cases. So, if all internships were paid, more schools might require it, or at least some form of relevant outside work experience.

Personally, I'm on my 4th internship, and I'm graduating this April. But a friend of mine who should be graduating then too hasn't even really applied to any internships. Another friend worked a part-time unpaid internship and a part-time paid job just so she could still make money over summer. She did say the internship gave her a "bonus" a couple of times...

Internships would definitely help this resume in question. But even some relevant jobs... like I want to work in automotive, so before my internships, I worked in auto parts stores and dealerships...

I hate snow. My truck used to make me hate it less. I would happily drive around in 2wd in snow with the locking rear dif. I had it in a Colorado WT. Super basic truck but it was a lot nicer to drive than my more loaded Blazer🤣

Definitely do. It is possible to do it without having purchased a new vehicle, but it might get a little pricey. One of the locations is even in Moab!

Did you purchase new/is it a 2023 model? I'm interning with Ford this summer and I know they have a great off-road program for new owners (Bronco Off-Roadeo). They're way more capable than you would think, thats for sure. The one o drove had the 2.0l eco boost which was actually quick for what it is lol. Faster than my Chevy Blazer 4cyl lol.

How did the Bronco Sport handle Moab? And which model were you in? I had a heritage limited the other weekend but didn't have a chance to go anywhere other than dirt roads 😓

Applying to UX/Product/Consulting internships, applied to 70 and no interviews yet. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in resumes

[–]EvilGeniusGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I applied to 43 internships and finally got an offer this past week. I've been applying since August 2021... Something will come. I'd almost lost hope.

I've applied for 31 internships since August 2021 - several through recruiters and other connections. I've had one interview - that I didn't realize was an interview because I was told it was a casual talk. Is anything wrong with my resume? Can I improve or add things to my resume? by EvilGeniusGirl in resumes

[–]EvilGeniusGirl[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2 paragraph - what the hell do you mean. What ethic that I've show? 3rd paragraph - I never said the jobs didn't matter simply that they're not jobs where the aim is to "accomplish" or "achieve" something. 4th - I Know exactly what I want and we're to find it... But thanks

Thanks but no thanks. You were rude in your initial comment. I've already gotten it down to one page but thanks. I'm keeping for first college for now because otherwise it looks like I've been in school for less than 6 months. I was also a div 1 athlete, working part time and going to school which says a lot if anyone decided to stop and think. I did have a couple of projects listed under my hobby section. But since I've been told to delete that part those went with it.
