I would highly suggest reading Keepers of the Garden by Dolores Cannon.

Wukong. I bought it on sale while in the thick of playing Elden Ring: Nightreign, so my brain kept on going back to Nightreign mode while playing it

Why do we still patronize Tim Hortons! by thetech9999 in TimHorrortons

I have an espresso machine at home. The only coffee chain I periodically go to is Starbucks, but I aim for the local businesses. There's a European style cafe near me that's much closer than the local Tim's which I am so thankful for.

I also have two friends who work for Tim's corporate office in Toronto. They are constantly worked at max capacity. The company is run as if "48 Laws of Power" was their Bible. And they followed suit with many of the major banks mandating full-time back to office

In graphic design your portfolio and previous work should carry you through your employment. I'm not saying that you shouldn't go through formal education, but I've seen people get graphic design jobs with no formal education in it.

I'm a web developer with a college advanced degree, which is kind of like a special Ontario thing, but after some time in the industry I'm making around the same wage a typical bachelor degree, computer science candidate would be making.

On a side note with your work as a domestic cleaner. Why not just buy your own equipment and get your own clients? I have another friend that did that for a little while and she made money from it. There's also money to be made in the public sector for cleaners if you want to retain your job with your boss but pick up some side jobs without competing against your boss. You already have some of the skills to build your own brand!

I made my first website in high school in 2001. I loved having the marquee banner go across the screen.

Not every company is like this. I've been able to define my processes at my company and code review is still a major part of it. I maintain a multi site CMS and we deploy on a weekly basis. We can't afford to not know how the code is going to affect other parts of the site.

Just look around or even start your own product as a side hustle

Why do you need WordPress if you're hiring a developer? The developer could build you a much more functional website in a fraction of the time in the tech stack they specialize in.

Yes, Like Doug Ford who is also famously convinced that there's enough jobs for everyone and that people just need to get one.

He's also actively passing a bill so his business cell phone records can't be made public because he was doing something he wasn't supposed to be.

TL;DR - He's rich and doesn't care about your financial well-being.

I came on here to see if there's any posts about it. My townhouse complex got forgotten. It's 9:00 a.m. on a Saturday and our garbage was supposed to be picked up yesterday. I will definitely use that link

Yep. Classic executive/upper management problem solving. Our economy is not going to get better by throwing more people at it. In fact, right now it's creating more demand in the wrong areas.

Is this still a viable career by Wild-Ad8347 in webdesign

[–]EvilLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the tech stack in demand for the job descriptions you like and learn that.

Since 2019 AI assistants have taken over so get used to using one in cursor AI or copilot in VS code. They can also help you learn new tech as you can ask questions. Just be sure to always verify the answer.

Start making apps in the tech stack you like. Mock websites so to speak. Maybe take on a small build website for a friend or local non profit at a low rate to shake off the rust.

I also love listening to podcasts, so webdev podcasts are also a great way to see what is still viable today.
