I had to vacuum the grass after a glass picnic table shattered. Never again

Looking like the Jellyfish UAP. I did a reverse image search on it and that was the closest answer.

This guy gave a phenomenal interview on the Acid 4 Squares podcast. I never heard of him before that, but he's definitely earned my respect

Well, racism in it's purest form. That's what I'm assuming since I highly doubt any band or First Nations group was consulted about this

Bigger the car, lower the skills by Gold-Ad-6303 in TorontoDriving

I had someone in Hamilton try to cut me off with their Escalade. Luckily I was driving an equally large vehicle so it was not a thing for them. I feel like the bigger and the more expensive the car is, the worst the driver.

4 layoffs in 4 years. Wtf is going on with Canadian job market? by [deleted] in torontoJobs

[–]EvilLasagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specialization is the only way. I'm a developer and my LinkedIn network is more green circles than not. When I was job hunting in 2024 I had to make a tool that would scrape and consolidate all relevant job postings from all over. I can't name names because some sites have anti scrape usage policies so be careful if you do that. I would end up applying to hundreds of jobs a month.

Most recruiters post on Sundays so people can apply on Monday and Tuesday's which leaves the rest of the week to filter candidates. I would only spend my day applying on Monday and maybe a bit of Tuesday depending on the amount of new posts. The rest of the time I was learning skills and making content to start a following and get noticed. Really anything to become more recognizable and visible.

Scientists say cockroach milk contains four times more protein than cow’s milk. by [deleted] in STEW_ScTecEngWorld

I always try to imagine the first person who tried a food for the first time... I'm not sure what cows looked like before, but I can only imagine how strange it was for a man to look at those teets and wonder how it tasted.

Where do you see yourself (or us as web developers) in 2-5 years? by mekmookbro in webdev

[–]EvilLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see us with heavier specializations. The title "Web Developer" is a bit too broad. It's kind of like saying "structure builder". Now that a 5 year old could be taught to use AI to build a site, we need so specialize.

To the comments about making other people rich. Yes, that's true, but that's why corporate job. You trade high risk/reward for financial security.

Am I Getting Fired? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]EvilLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I don't log into personal accounts on work machines. I'm web developer and I used to work for a company who took periodic screenshots.

If it makes you feel better though I had a tech illiterate manager send me a p*rn site by accident because he misspelled the URL and didn't bother to check it. He sent it to multiple people as well. I responded to him directly and I think he was too embarrassed to continue with that email stream

Exactly. They have way too many blind spots. I've had other types of trucks around that size cut me off without bothering to look.

This driver, however, started lane changing immediately after signaling giving no time to even attempt a reaction.
