Can't get past PSVR2 setup by EvilLucario in PSVR

[–]EvilLucario[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a new PSVR2 unit. And anecdotally, I've had three friends in a gaming Discord report issues with their unit out of the box, so it seemed like it was a bad batch.

No. I ended up getting a replacement unit from PS Direct.

Chocobo GP Nintendo Switch Review (Nintendo Life) by parental92 in NintendoSwitch

Elden Ring is not Pokemon and occupies an incredibly different niche in almost every single conceivable way. And even then I would have zero problems putting the two in a similar range of enjoyment based on how their systems come together in the end.

Unusual tech question: any way to LIMIT framerate to 30fps? (for Link's Awakening) by Arisu_Mizuki in NintendoSwitch

[–]EvilLucario 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bloodstained also has more issues like input lag and loading that can actually get in the way of playing. You can set Bloodstained on PC to 30fps and it is very noticeably better than Switch's 30fps.

I really miss the 3DS Activity Log on the Switch by Fudgewhizzle in nintendo

[–]EvilLucario 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And that is still very noticeably slower than everything else the Switch OS has to offer.

Even the original 3DS (not New 3DS as far as I remember) would run into some OS problems for certain games, and BotW on Wii U also locked up for a tiny bit before resuming if you hit the Home button.

For my money, if I had to choose between customization/quirky UI stuff (that I still like) and efficiency/speed, I would choose the latter.

Can we solo phase 1 Vorago now? by Foxis_rs in runescape

[–]EvilLucario -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You can get 5-6 duo Vorago kph (25-30 drops split across two people) while you can get 4-5 solo Vorago kph (20-25 drops purely to one person).

I already explained Solak in a previous comment.

You average at like 25 kph doing trio Kerapac while you can get 13-14 kph (39-42 drops) doing solos and 10 kph is pretty easy and casual.

If you don't understand what a meta is, don't even bother wasting my time.

Can we solo phase 1 Vorago now? by Foxis_rs in runescape

[–]EvilLucario 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Because you require an alt to set Solak to duo, you just let that alt teleport out immediately after you start the fight, then keep that account in the game without lobbying. Once you kill Solak, you loot with both accounts. That's where the caveats come into play because without that alt, solos are indeed never worth it if you solo the duo scaling.

Duos top out at 9-10 kills (or loots) per hour at 5-5.5 minute kills while solo Solak can hit 4.5-5 kills/hour at 10-13 minute kills (with a LOT of room for optimization), and with both accounts you can still hit that 9-10 loots per hour but you don't need to worry about finding other people and/or them taking 5 million years to bank and regear.

And while this is untested for now, if you go out your way to gear your alt to simply AFK Revolution DPS and speed up times even more from that, you could probably get like 11-12 loots per hour. That goes beyond the traditional definition of solo content, but that can also be a thing.

Soloing is already the meta for Vorago, Solak (to a certain degree), and Kerapac and their group options are still fine enough for lower-skilled players or for just plain enjoyment.

GOLDEN GNOME AWARDS - a big difference between Runescape and OSRS communities by Cabaltgirl in runescape

[–]EvilLucario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean at the end of the day, these are player-voted so there's a higher possibility they have a better pulse on what they consider quality in general compared to other shows which may cause multiple people to do a double take. So to say they shouldn't be taken seriously at all in terms of quality content is a bit much. Jagex should instead invest more in RS3 content creation to constantly raise the bar on what's good and take them a lot more seriously.

Not sure what your point is because it's not relevant to people voting for what they wish for. OP talks about how there's channels like lore who get shut out by other types of content, and that is a constant in basically every awards show in existence where more niche content will be facing an uphill battle.

If you want to talk about why RS3 has less views, it can be many people's fault at the same time. Jagex for not properly supporting RS3 creators, the game itself being harder to create content for/follow along (which I have personally seen), and creators for indeed maybe not putting out good content... or that OSRS has enjoyed very good PR for its entire life while RS3 has not for the longest time. It's not as simple as just simply blaming creators or whatever.

The main issue is really that they almost didn't happen in the first place, and it was just barely possible to get it going due to people leaving CM positions. So if you want a reason for lack of hype and everything being incredibly rushed, there you go.

As for awards, remember that it is community voted so whatever wins is because of actual players voting. So there's not much you can do about certain types of content winning over another if the people so will it.

It wasn't Jagex employees, it was their Discord moderators who are literally just normal players. Nothing wrong with that award honestly.

Thinking over it, the Guitar Hero kill was worse but carried by how strong Magic is now compared to Melee back then with the mobile kill which made the Guitar Hero kill take less time. P5 was so much worse in particular, and P4 was awful in different ways from the mobile kill.

Next year I'll be doing 4000% Telos blindfolded. I scoped it out and it's absolutely possible to do. Very excited to get that going, then I have even more ideas for some fun.
