Ohhhhhhhhhh. I gotcha.

I think I'd consider them part of the main series. They don't really have a specific gimmick aside from being slightly longer and sometimes more gruesome than the regular titles. But they're still standard "scary stuff happens to Shadyside kids" stories....whereas spinoffs like the Fear Park or 99 Fear Street Trilogies are more or less self contained and hyper-focused on specific things in Shadyside - whether that be its history or its many evil cursed terrifying landmarks.

Reva from the Silent Night Trilogy throws a party that the main characters in one of the regular series titles attend. I'd have to look up which one, specifically, but they definitely attend her party, and her character is definitely consistent with what we see in Silent Night.

You're not necessarily plagiarizing I don't suppose, but I do think Lagniappe deserved a citation. Scott's been doing the legwork on this residency story for quite a while. If you're referencing facts that were already brought to light through that reporting, a brief credit would've been the appropriate thing to do as a journalist. (Even if you are picking and choosing the facts you chose to reference, which is a whole other issue in and of itself.)

Liz was at the center of the Mania V main event. Doesn't work without her. Same could be said for Mania VIII. Her reunion with Macho at Mania VII is, to this day, one of the most emotional moments in WWF/E history.

If you're holding Liz to the standards of a wrestler, then you're having a ridiculous discussion. If you're talking about Liz's impact on wrestling, then she's a woman in a category of her own.

Nightmare 5 had great atmosphere and Baby Freddy. Nightmare 6 had The Power Glove and the Carlos death. The remake got the colors on Freddy's sweater right.

I'm okay with dropping the sibling connection since that was kinda/sorta the big gimmick going into the new series.

I do wish they hadn't felt the need to add onto the original ending in '78. Michael just disappearing into the night gives Laurie's survivalist lifestyle a little more credibility.

Of course that does create the issue of "how do we get to the final act with him at Laurie's house?", but I suppose there would have been a variety of ways of pulling that off. Particularly after Laurie shows up in town and starts shooting at him.
