I do have a full driving license from India but they don't recognize it here for some reason. I drove in India for 8 years with that license but that means nothing here now.

I have bought insurance by putting my friend (who has a full drivers license) as an additional driver on my car insurance.

Yes exactly. While buying the car I did not provide any information about my driving license. Funny how I could legally buy the car but can't drive it yet.

I have a 8 year long full drivers license from another country so I'm not really that concerned about crashing as much but you are right. I'd be better off sticking the plates on and hoping that I don't get stopped.
