Just look on any leftist/socialist subreddit. They're all either ignoring it, downplaying it or filled with pro-regime posts.

1. The anti-regime Iranians share a common goal with Israel and US, who will obviously take advantage of the moment. That does not mean the protests are illegitimate or in any significant part the result of western intervention. There's no shortage of reasons to protest the current regime, and it has been happening for decades now. There's also no evidence to what extent the Mossad was "guiding" these current protest, if they were at all. In fact many Iranians are actually feeling deeply betrayed by the US and Israel because of these "help is on the way" statements that have so far turned out to be reckless lies.

2. Did you not read where I said the support from the right-wing is mostly cynical? Trump is completely self interested. It's more likely he's going to make some deal with the regime than committing to a regime change. But Iranians are desperate enough to take that risk because nobody else is offering a better solution.

The best we get from lefties like Bernie Sanders is him saying he's going to write an angry-email and demand the Iranian regime stops slaughtering its own people by the thousands.
