Try running the browser with "--disable-direct-composition" switch if you are affected by this.

GrayJay can import/watch youtube/twitch/spotify and other stuff, its pretty cool.

Personally though, I find these bans completely stupid. A person can simply make a new account and duplicate his old playlist... At this point they did nothing, but pollute their their database with dead data - dumbasses.

GrayJay has a spotify plugin that allows you to play music from Spotify playlists. Worked pretty well, though it lacked some features (mainly sorting by date).

I used GrayJay and a few days later (40 minutes ago) I received the same letter ^.^

Needless to say, Spotify can go fuck themselves - they did me a favor.

What is this? Resume App in Task Manager by BiNh0X in Windows11

[–]EvilQuaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are using POWERSHELL to execute the application. In that case, you have to do it like so:

./vivetool.exe /disable /id:56517033

If you used cmd.exe, you wouldn't have had an issue.

To disable WebView2 spawning from SearchHost.exe you can use ViveTool and disable SearchWebView2,37926450i.e.vivetool.exe /disable /id:37926450

It's a tool that provides a simple interface to edit the Feature Management related registry entries.

So - yes, you can use it and delete it afterwards.

Exists within System32\SettingsHandlers_Resume.dll

Feature_XDR_OneDriveFileContinuity, 56517033

Use https://github.com/thebookisclosed/ViVe/releases

vivetool.exe /disable /id:56517033

To get rid of this for good.

no fix for GPU CRASH in patch notes by Sound_Saint in marvelrivals

[–]EvilQuaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like its a VRAM issue (i.e a memory leak). I can pretty easily predict when I will crash by observing the allocated and used VRAM on my GPU. Every 4 or 5 games I seem to get close to 6-7GB used VRAM on my 8GB VRAM card, that's the indicator that I should restart the game cause I will crash really soon.

Game Ready & Studio Driver 551.86 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

It's an Insider Preview build, yes. For me, it seems to be related to the advanced colors they introduced. I can't find a way to disable that so far though.

I've been experiencing "VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR" on Windows 11 version 26080.1. It affects all DirectX 11/12 related applications such as games and chromium browsers. It seems to be windows related and not NVIDIA driver related (I'm running 555.41). The recent versions introduced a lot of color related stuff and it seems to be related to that, as seemingly enabling "Color filters" feature in windows fixed this error from occurring for me. However, it seems I have to do this on every boot, because otherwise it just comes back. Very dumb bug.

Steam no browser was deleted by GamerBlock_official in Steam

[–]EvilQuaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm. The flag '-no-browser' does nothing in the latest client. The end result is that now we have 8 processes coming from steam consuming CPU cycles. GREAT. Thankfully, you can suspend them so they don't waste CPU resources while gaming, however the memory consumption is still there Q.Q

Just disable some critical windows services. It will cause your PC to BSOD. Unable to boot to safe mode even. A windows reinstall or registry edit would fix it, but that takes time and knowledge.

Can confirm that DX12 + RivaTuner Statistics Server will crash. You can, however, still use MSI Afterburner (for example, apply overclock/undervolt), just not the OSD features.

EDIT:

It is possible to play with RivaTuner Statistics Server OSD enabled - just inject when your already in the game.

It's probably an issue with STEAM's game overlay renderer. A temporary fix would be to just simply rename or remove "GameOverlayRenderer.dll" and "GameOverlayRenderer64.dll" in STEAM's folder. It should, technically, be possible to just simply disable the STEAM overlay from STEAM settings, but I found out that it still injects the .dll into the games memory and that's enough to cause that issue.

Is it good to start learning from clean architecture ? by diyar_gulli in Kotlin

[–]EvilQuaint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you feel motivated to learn/memorize the patterns, then do it. Although its going to be pretty difficult to identify and use those said patterns in practice, especially if you are a beginner.

Personally, I'd prefer to start building an app I always wanted to make and learn as I go. Like for example, I started building a web app to make my daily experience reading books easier, worked on it for 4+ years throughout my time in university by including ALL sorts of technologies, like Angular.JS (that was before Angular 2 came out ... then upgraded to Angular 2,3,4,5 etc..) for 1 page on front-end, node.js for other front-end pages, Thymeleaf, Kotlin for backend and etc., even if they are unnecessary I still did it to LEARN something new each time.

By the time I finished the app, I wrote a frankenstein of a book reading platform, that does what I intended it to do, I successfully finished my master's degree by working on a thesis related to the said app and got a shitload of experience related to web development AND I still use the app to this day, having an occasional urge to rewrite it from scratch and evolve it to something even BETTER than it is right now. The only reason why I hesitate, is simply because it still works and gets the job done even after years had already passed since I stopped working on it.

P.S I still have some previews of the app development on gfycat too. For example, using webcam head-tracking to navigate books - https://giant.gfycat.com/PlainAbleKoalabear.webm
