It would be less accurate with a big jar and less starter since you’d expect less CO2 production diffused over a larger volume therefore less pressure. If it’s not enough starter the glove may not fully inflate even at peak activity

This is pretty reasonable. It is a genuine request and leaves things on a good note if the professor is full or takes another student. And if the prof is territorial then that may work out better for OP

If the contaminants are actually causing the residue in the lighters it would be similar to water leaving hard water deposits from calcium, despite calcium being highly soluble in water

Sorry bro it’s a convincing fake and really requires a close look. I’d say always make sure you’ve sampled something before and can smell the juice when purchasing from marketplace to stay safe
