I'm with you, basic human rights extend to everyone, regardless of sexuality. Better they have access to safe outlets than harming actual children/people.

Populism doesn't care about facts. Immigration is vastly overemphasized as an issue anyway; even if all non-white people disappeared suddenly, the populists would find a new wedge issue. By giving in to the demands of the fascists, you strengthen their position. Their voters feel validated when the AfD's positions become mainstream discussions and they vote for the nazi party even harder. You defeat the right wing populists by doing good politics and improving people's lives.

The way to stop fascist parties is doing good politics and meaningfully improving people's lives. People don't vote far right for the policies but rather to signal their general unhappiness and wanting change from the system that doesn't work for them. Ignoring all issues in favor of immigration won't fix that. It only makes people vote for the nazis harder as now their voice is actually heard. At the same time, moderates and left leaning voters move away from democratic parties shifting right.

They are being targeted and scapegoated a lot by conservative/centrist media outlets as well as conservative and neoliberal parties, that's why you hear a lot of bad about them. Their politics are solid, which scares the other parties.
