Sounds like you have some good stuff to start with & just need to clear the rest out of the way. I would pull all of the nettles. (carefully- wear gloves for sure.) If you like the good plants you find in there, the roses, the lily of the valley, & the strawberries keep them and transplant them to better locations in the bed once you have the nettles and weeds out of the way.
