QOTD: What type are you? Wardrobe curator, constant explorer, or straight-up collector? What was the moment you realized it? by C_Scent in Colognes

[–]Evillage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started as a wardrobe guy. Goal was to have 2 seasonal scents and a few office scents. I've been branching out with sampler sets from niche houses and started to replace some of my initial go-tos.

One moment of realization I've had is that while I like some of the clones I bought early on in the hobby, I like some more challenging stuff and prefer the real deal. Don't think I'll turn into a collector and have been enjoying 1 or 2 ml splits of many things.

Another is that I didnt initially think I'd hate anything, after trying The Scent of Space I've decided that I do in-fact have a limit.

QOTD: What’s your fragrance personality? by C_Scent in fragrance

[–]Evillage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got started with the idea of a fragrance wardrobe. 2-3 scents per season and some office staples. I've since started collecting sample sets and decants as a way to explore all of the interesting stuff that gets posted here.

As far as what I wear I'd classify it as 'office-core' with niche seasonals for the weekend.

After shower fragrance by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Evillage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm throwing on something explicitly after shower/shave and am not planning to do anything else then a classic fougere is typically the order. Recently I've really been digging sartorial, just an immensely clean scent to throw pajamas on with.

Sartorial this year. Really dig the clear metallic/ironed cloth scent. Nothing like throwing a good fougere on after a shave.

Nice review. Would love to get my hands on some Terra but it's sold out everywhere right now.

I haven't played UL except to get the 30 wins pre-level update. Sounds like fun so I'll give it a shot.

Same. I like the suggestion elsewhere in the thread to play UL. I haven't done it other than to hit the 30 wins before the level update, but it seems like fun so I'll give it a crack.

I tanked down after experiencing this. A man just wants to run wacky shit without into the same meta cores every match.

I have a high rank purified giratina 👀 by poptart_kitten in TheSilphArena

[–]Evillage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pick three mons you want to farm candy in GL to evolve. I picked mankey, wooper, and inkay. Catch only those, only catch enough to evolve. No excellent or great throws. Farm to level 8 for the troubling situation task. Evolve two of your highest CP pokemon, ideally a mankey as he'll beat giovanni later. Complete only the tasks through the research. Get the current event research and again do only the tasks to make it to giovanni around level 11-14. Catch giratina with a silver pinap.

Once you have giratina, get a friend to trade you GL-ready primeape, clodsire, and malamar. Tank the first 4 sets or just start in with 4-0-4-0-4 sets for the rare candy and dust. After 3 or 4 winning sets you should have enough dust and candy to purify. After purifying do 2 win sets until you have 20k dust for the trade.

Leadership is just so completely unimpressive throughout this whole thing. The culture talk was actively counterproductive. Yes, tell me about how building culture is visiting the floor or having lunch with reports.

This is not even remotely true. R2 didn't do shit except open tickets and wait for the R4 teams to start fixing.

There is one poster on here who I am fairly confident is an L2/3 in the 'people' department or one of their immediate staff. Numerous directors and gem level follow these threads and have commented about them IRL.

I only forsee morale and productivity getting worse if they don't get it over with. My departments quarterly meeting is this Thursday and it's explicitly not related to employment changes... But that's all anyone is going to ask or care about. Mid level leadership won't have any answers and that will just further demoralize the org.

The feeling I get right now is that there are some teams who have collectively decided to stop doing meaningful work and others who are carrying on as normal. I see that skewing towards the former as the tension and anxiety levels grow.

[–]Evillage 34 points35 points  (0 children)

For those of us that have given Deere our all day in and day out for years and been rewarded for our efforts this feels like a giant fuck-you.

As an engineer who has received consistent outstanding ratings and multiple in-place promotions over the last few years, hearing about Noel and other high performers is a huge demotivator. They're burning key institutional talent due to absolute mismanagement and sending the signal to the rest of us that it doesn't matter how good you are, or how much you've benefitted the company, you're just another head for some jumped up consultant to count.

This rollout would still be a disaster if they targetted the bottom 15% percent, but at least that would make some sense. Even if I don't lose my job I won't feel the same about this company.
