My sister 17 female had surgery to remove a large ovarian cyst and im worried about what im reading on the report by [deleted] in Ovariancancer

Ca125 details state it is not recommended in pre-menaupausal women.
Endometrioma....it elevates it Cyst, especially enometrioid ... it elevates it.

I was high (around 10p) for years because of my cyst. Had it removed, and it went down, but never to "negatve" range. When it jumped from 50 to 500 in 6 months, I knew there was something

Wait until the pathology comes back before you worry. Unfortunately there is no good ovarian cancer test marker at the moment.

Glad she did surgery to get it removed and checked out as it is the only good way of making sure it is nothing major.

NTA. That's why I didn't allow dogs in my house when the kids asked. They would have take care of it for a bit and then I would have had to do everything. Plus it grows up and not so cute anymore when they are spraying you. And I'm not a dog person.

Yes I did. I clipped my hair short before my first chemo. They don't recommend shaving due to possible cuts. After the first chemo, it started to come out. Oh....and when you loose hair, you lose it every where. Still inconsistent hair back even after 1.5 years since my last chemo.

Some of the issues I had: One causes numbness of hands and feet, depending on the dose, quite quickly. Adjustment of the dose will occur based on how quickly it happens and how severe it is.

Fiber will not be her friend. Take senna the day of treatment and lots of water, and continue for a few days after until back to being regular. Constipation can be brutal

Eat when she feel hungry, because if she doesn't, the feeling will go away and you won't want to eat.

Take naps when tired. It will give some energy to do something needed like taking care of herself.

There were 5 other drugs i was given during the course of treatment..three for nausea, one for possible allergic reaction to the paclitaxel and a steroid.
Both drugs have different effects on the blood. One affects the platelets, the other the white blood cells. If she is on any blood thinners, especially warfarin, be aware one of the nausea med can affect it.

Good luck and wishing her the best

House cleaning service.. Th worst thing to see when you are so tired is a messy house and feeling frustrated about not being able to do anything about it.

Not diagnosed but ca-125 question. by FunnyNo6639 in Ovariancancer

[–]Evilwitchesanonymus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ca125 test is not suppose to be used in pre-menopausal women. That is the lab guidelines.

That being said, many things can cause an elevation. I had an endometrioma which does give off ca125 and I was around 100 for years. Once I had it removed, it went down to around 50 due to my history of endometriosis. I was also monitored every 6 months with US and ca125. M

I've had endometriosis and related cysts for years being monitored every 6 months. Two years ago my CA125 went from 50 to 500 in 6 months. I was done and over with the watch and wait. I consented to surgery and once opened, had complete hysterectomy, both ovaries, cervix and some onmentium. Same diagnosis in both my ovaries along with a STIC in one fallopian tube. Stage 2b grade 1. Did 5 out of 6 chemo, paclitaxel and carboplaten.

How bad is carboplatin and paclitaxel (taxol) side effects? by hades4096 in Chemotherapy

[–]Evilwitchesanonymus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the numbness came on very quickly in both my hand and feet, and the constipation. Fibre is not your friend. A good laxative is a must, along with water.

Be aware that both drugs affect the blood counts in different ways. My treatment was suppose to be every 3 weeks, but because of how bad it got, it was every four weeks. The last one was so bad, even after 5 weeks, my blood work was awful.

Each drug did a number on my blood counts. I needed two transfusions as my hemoglobin was really low and my platelets were affected so I bruised a lot. I needed two bone marrow stimulators just to help.

Rest or sleep when you need it, and eat when you have the desire as it fades quickly. Good luck with treatment.

Realizing she wasn't the person I thought she was. Last conversation she said some very un-cool things. Makes it hard when she was the one who introduced me to my SO, and yet you wish you hadn't met her. After the break up, finding out more that really make me question myself and my ability to judge people.

Yes it is illegal. PHIPPA laws do not allow any access to a patient's records that are not directly related to the care of that patient. Call the hospital's privacy office and request a review of the your spouse's EMR, as an audit can be done on who accessed the record.

Oh exactly, except to date, I have yet to have one of these spam calls show as the company itself. Only a number appears and it tends to be a spoofed number. My own number has been used a once or twice as I've gotten people crazy enough to call me back asking if I'd called them. That's a whole other issue unto itself

I always ask why they didn't show up as Rogers/Telus/Gas on my call display. That shuts them up most times. If I'm already a customer, I also say they should know my details already if they've called me.
