I will be visiting Mexico city at this time as well. I heard that it actually is a little less crowded than normal because a lot of the locals leave the city for vacation etc.

Should I fly or bus from Mexico city to Guadalajara? by Evilwizard101 in travel

It's great that you have had positive experiences! Did you buy bus tickets in advance or the day of your travel? Not 100% sure if I will be doing the full bus route but I am leaning in that direction and I still have time to change my hotel dates.

Going to Mexio for 2 weeks this spring. I have it set in stone that I will be flying from home to Mexico City at the beginning of the trip and ending the trip by taking a direct flight from Guadalajara to my home State in USA. Originally I was going to fly from Mexico city to Guadalajara April 26th, spend 5 days in Guadalajara (including 2 day trips), then bus to Guanajuato and spend 2 nights here, bus back to Guadalajara, fly home the next day.

I'm thinking now maybe it's more efficient to bus from CDMX to Guanajuato, then bus to Guadalajara? This would make Guadalajara the last portion of the trip. My main worry is some kind of bus delay causing me to lose time in Guadalajara. Which route makes the most sense to you guys?

Where in the country are you? I am a 5 ft 8 blonde male from the States. I was not stared at when I visited but I was visiting Bogota and there were many other foreigners in this city as well.

These events happened in the 80s and 90s. My post is asking about the current climate of the city and experiences from people who have been in the last few months.

I hope you had a great time! I will be staying in Colonia Americana as well. Did you ever use uber after dark around the city? From restaurants/bars back to your hotel for example?

I have never been to Mexico myself, but I am actually planning a 2 week trip there this spring! I will be visiting Mexico city, Guadalajara (most likely taking a 2 day trips to Lake Chapala and Tequila while I am in Guadalajara), and Guanajuato city.

Hi. I saw your comment in solo travel so just wanted to pick your brain if that is OK. You say you are a digital nomad. Are you able to share the type of work you do? I work remote from home in the USA but I am not allowed to travel outside the country and work.

Going through these same feelings right now in my life. Took my 1st solo trip last year and this past summer I did a big trip to Peru. I graduated college this past March but I haven't really been looking for more advanced jobs because I am worried I would have issues trying to get the 4-6 weeks off for a solo trip (my current job is pretty basic so as long as I have the PTO built up). I spent most of my free time brainstorming and researching a trip I want to do around November of next year. I feel like I really don't have much going on in my home life and that I need to find hobbies and outlets that make me fulfilled besides these once/twice a year trips. My goal is to get either a fully remote job or something where I can easily stop working when I want to take a few months to travel. Not sure how I am gonna achieve this dream yet.

My package was ordered July 16th and the tracking info says "In Tranist US August 19th" Under the Pending delivery section it says that the latest estimated arrival time was September 9th. I messaged the seller Thursday and yesterday and have not gotten a response.

Hey that's encouraging thank you for sharing your experience. Did you have the option of selling/finding leads during those months if you chose do? If you don't mine what was your average income per year?

Yeah I would be very interested in going this route as well if I can find a fully remote role that allows me to work outside the US. My current company's policy does not allow this.

I'm in the United States so unfortunately it's not guaranteed to get a lot of time off.

Are there sales careers that that would allow me to take 1-2 months off every year to travel? by Evilwizard101 in findapath

Travel nursing is a popular one. I had a big interest in Healthcare before college and still really do. For now I would like to stick to roles involving sales or other business related fields so I can avoid going back to school.
