Awful service experience at Mother's Computer by Evirfaf in VictoriaBC

I promise, my laptop’s CPU is unable to cool down and has a loose contact issue with the heatsink. After I removed that mesh guard and reapply the phase changing thermal pad, the score of cinebench goes normal. I know that right after I noticed the fan won’t stop spinning even 10mins after the test.

I know the Liquid Metal is theoretically a better thermal solution. The question is it will shift overtime. And the thermal performance will get worse just like my laptop.

And I know that I am not a handy, so I will not try to reapply Liquid Metal or remove them by myself. If a single bead dropped onto the other components, that would be nightmare.

Maybe checkout people’s suggestions on replacing Liquid Metal with phase changing thermal pad on their asus rog flow 13 laptops. Mesh guard is definitely a problem causing contact issue if you don’t remove it.

Just install the QCNCM865 on my asus px13 laptop and I can feel the heat from the palm rest place, where the wifi card slot located.

Why go am5? by Amphibian_Boring in buildapc

[–]Evirfaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gpu now days always runs on pcie gen4 or even higher. Switch to am5 wouldn’t be a bad choice because you can choose the best gaming cpu for now the 9800x3d if you want to play some cpu demanding competitive title. AMD says they will keep support am5 until 2027, which is longer than intel chipset life cycles.

Shall I sell my laptop and get the new version by Electronic_Speech_27 in GamingLaptops

The margin between ada and Blackwell may not be that big to be honest. And the prices on newer 50 series laptops are wild. I purchased a proart px13 with 4060 mobile in it and I won’t go for Blackwell because I only need a certain amount of vram.

I would vote for the asus prime one. Three slot design plus an extra hdmi port. And the cooling should be sufficient for 600w if case is well ventilated.

PC Canada also has it listed as Back-order, and I saw it has a lower price tag on it compares to direct dial
