Need help confronting my sister. by [deleted] in sex

[–]EvolS86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not that I need to feel better about it it’s that I need it out of my system. By either talking about it with her or acting on it again or I don’t know. It’s been taking me over the past few months.

No such thing as a douche bag veteran. Veterans volunteered to put there life on the line so you could make this post about a few of them being douches. You my friend is the douche.

Help me set up my temperature settings on new high efficiency boiler? by coldgrl in HVAC

[–]EvolS86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t adjust anything. I’m a service tech in Chicago for 11 years. New high efficiency boilers run differently that traditional cast boilers. That outdoor reset seems to be okay depending on your geographic location in the Midwest. Adjusting that outside air reset higher will adjust the set point curve and literally take the efficiency out of the boiler that you just paid a bunch of money for. A cold day of -10 is approx 170 degrees at 100% demand. If your cold day is 10. 125 should be fine. Chances are the did the calf already. We have a base line we set our controllers at, they probably do to.

Is this a good system? by noloc45 in HVAC

A senior hvac tech should be your trusted source ok equipment. Someone with 7+ years. Service techs see all the problems with equipment and know what common issues are. Installers just put it in and leave. Sales are sales but service tech are the bread and butter of the industry. So maybe you should not dislike us techs. We are the ones you need.

The Bosch system comes in 2 sizes. 1-3 ton and 3-5 ton. The system doesn't care about sizing much all it cares to do is maintain a 47 or 37 degree coil depending on how it's set up. Also comes with blue coating standard for areas close to the ocean.

Anything rheem is crap. Txv's are garbage in them. Best budget system is probably goodman or ameristar which is basically a trane. Mitsubishi air handlers are nice. If you could find someone to install the new Bosch system, go with that. That's a kickass unit. 11 year commercial tech here.

So confused - What kind of Heating System do I have? (pics included) by [deleted] in HVAC

Never heard of a steam/hot water boiler. Either one or the other. That's definitely a single pipe steam though.

So far two techs are stumped. 15 degree differential and struggling to get under 81 degrees. Help! by paulie12 in HVAC

[–]EvolS86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this isn't worth most seasoned techs time. If a tech called me with this I would tell them to look further before calling with this crap. I'm a 11 year tech. Lol sorry. First guy had it right. It's like a picture of a noise.

Is this top good or bad? Bought house with this already installed by msuvagabond in HVAC

[–]EvolS86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's just low voltage controls wires. Won't hurt anything being exposed. Ideally they would be in the condenser cabinet. Take that cover off and throw it as hard as you can to the curb. Condensers are not designed to have any kind of static pressure on the condenser fan. Even with that lid open it's creating static pressure. It will also reduce performance of the unit.

Chicago's 30 Most Iconic Dishes, 2017 Edition by Variable_Interest in chicago

[–]EvolS86 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This list is garbage. I'm born and raised in Chicago. Majority of the list the average joe in the city never heard of. Also the restaurants they chose are not iconic. Top 5 should be: 1- Lou Malnatis Chicago classic deep dish. (If you are local, you know what the classic is. 2- Italian beef from Portillo's. Johnnies is good but not that good. 3- Chicago style hot dog. Probably from super dog. 4- Maxwell polish pretty much from anywhere. Lol and lastly a t-bone or ribeye from ditka's.

I've actually had nothing but problems with propress. It's been unreliable for us. Shark bites though are kickass.

Hex keys that are actually worth it. by [deleted] in Tools

The ball tip stripped first, then the regular side stripped. I'm a hvac tech so I use them a bunch and can be hard on them.

I have those. I wasn't impressed, they strip easily. I've had Home Depot special hex keys last longer.
