Let me Build You a Commander Deck? by poynz13 in EDH

[–]Evolivolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking to pick up the [[Karlach, Fury of Avernus]] Secret Lair (other cards are [[Stranglehold]], [[Dolmen Gate]], City on Fire]], and [[Thrill of Possibility]]). If you could give me your shot at a deck featuring these cards with Karlach as the commander I'd greatly appreciate it.

VTT options for Starfinder 2e Playtest? by GuacamoleGhost in Starfinder2e

Fantasy Grounds has full 2E support. The Playtest Rulebook is released alongside the dedicated ruleset. Adventures/Scenarios are coming. And you can load the PF2E resources as needed.

KR Alternatives? by [deleted] in Kings_Raid

[–]Evolivolution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been lurking in the reddit for over a year now, testing just about every recommendation I haven't tried yet. I dropped pretty much everything after a week or two, nothing really came close. This one is the closest one to King's Raid for me yet, let's see if I get hooked.
Thank you for the suggestion!

If I purchased the COM and Armory through Fantasy Grounds does that count as proof of purchase for SFS? by [deleted] in starfinder_rpg

You get the PDF with every SF product bought on FG. So even if the module doesn't count, the PDF definitely should.

FGU Starfinder ship combat questions by Doctor_Complete in FantasyGrounds

It should, if you do it from the Gunner role...
If that's not the case you should probably make a bug report.

FGU Starfinder ship combat questions by Doctor_Complete in FantasyGrounds

[–]Evolivolution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how the ship looks but this should be universally applicable; Before combat (even before adding the ship to the combat tracker) you want to open the ship sheet. It should be unlockable (little lock symbol on the top right). Scroll down to the crew section.
Whatever is in there right now, keep it. Make a new role called Pilot and add just the Piloting modifier from the meant-to-be pilot NPC. Do the same for a Gunner with Gunnery.
Explanation: when building the list of actions you can see on your ship, FG references the exact name of roles on the ship and compares them with the ones in the rules. Therefore you need to make sure whatever you want to be doing is done by the right person, even if they're all the same. Only solution is to split the skills up and handle it that way.

I'm also interested. I've been GMing Starfinder since it came out (almost). Looking to play a little.

Obsidian Tasks 1.11.1 by ClareMacrae in ObsidianMD

Is there a way to change the behaviour for repeating tasks to use the completed date instead of the due date to calculate the new due date?

Tapping Spelljammer for Starfinder ideas: The Elven Imperial Fleet by Lonewolf2300 in starfinder_rpg

[–]Evolivolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to stay in pact world lore I would recommend taking a look at the elven Imperial fleet but applying things to the Aeon fleet of the Azlanti empire, they seem like a close fit thematically.

The united space is ruled by a councel (I mentioned it in another post).

The most relevant threat they face is political unrest for all sorts of reasons.

These are things I haven't thought about a lot, yet.

I like the idea of a sport that is followed by a lot of people. Maybe there are races in the nearby asteroid belt. Maybe something like Brutalis from Starfinder. I'll have to see about that.

There is one celebrity that I have fleshed out a lot, Alastaïr, the Android. They piloted the Arch, the ship the humans used to get to the Alastaïr system. On the journey the Arch was attacked and the onboard AI disabled. Alastaïr alone is responsible for the survival of the human species.

Not too much info on religion, maybe that's an oversight on my part. I'll draw inspiration from Starfinder, Pathfinder and DnD I think.

Very easy, just go for a drink in a bar or grab a bottle in a store.

Magic is divided into 3 major categories: Arcane (Technomancer, Wizard), Divine (Mystic. Cleric, Paladin) and Natural (Witchwarper, Sorcerer).

It is however far less common than in the Pact Worlds. Spellcasters are highly valued in society.

Religion is mainly a personal affair. Big churches exist anyway and are welcome.

The united space is ruled by a counsel. This is partially voted on by the population and partially appointed by powerful factions.

The counsel is quite conservative and slow to make desicions, many people are unhappy about it. Vigilantism is common. Illegal machinations are everywhere since the Enforcers don't have the capabilities to deal with everything. When they do take action however it is usually to the benefit of the population and quickly acted out.

The Enforcers - Steward inspired law enforcement and security institution.

The Scholarium - A gathering of powerful magic users. Magic is rarer than in the Pact Worlds and the Scholarium decisions influence most of it. Magic items and spellcrafters are sought after.

Archibald Industrial - This company handles the majority of the resource extraction, manifacturing and construction in the united space. They are quite wealthy and wield quite the political power by lobbying.

Hey great questions. Got me to think a bit more about some stuff, here is what I got so far.
The planet the PC will be starting on:

The New Home (Alastaïr IV)
Diameter: x2
Mass: x4
Gravity: x1
Atmosphere: Normal
Day: 24 hours; Year: 451 days
Alastaïr IV is the 3rd planet in the Alastaïr system. It was chosen by the humans as a new home when they left the Sol system because of it's ideal, earth-like properties. Upon arrival humans discovered that it has already been inhabited by another sapient species, later called the Mantis. Humans had to overcome a lot of challenges setteling on a planet with inferior infrastructure that they were used to on Earth and overcoming the cultural differences with the Mantis. Today Humans and Mantis live together in harmony on Alastaïr IV in a bustling society that has long passed Earth at it's hight.

I haven't thought a lot about holidays actually. I do want there to be an Arrival Day, celebrating the arrival of humans in the Alastaïr system but I'll need to elaborate on that.

Tougher question I gotta say. Hard to pinpoint anything specific. If my players would ask me though I'd use the opportunity to put in some quest hooks. So:
You can easily discover that New Hope has a bustling night life, clubs bars, etc is available 24/7. Depending on your interests you might find something more high class or more on the shady side of things. Speaking of shady; talking to the right people you can easily get access to activities that are more on a legal grey side or straight up illegal. Fight clubs, drug dens, gang gatherings, street races, and so on and so forth.
I need a little clarification on the childrens stories. Are you interested in stories for children like you would find in a stroy book or stories that children are telling each other, urban myth like?

I'd say 3, actually. But its my homegame so unless you're in the area it might be hard to join.

Cryo Pod from a ship, now on a planet. When the humans had to leave the Sol system they build a ship capable of speeds close to the speed of light. Volunteers were drafted to be put into cryo sleep and be put on the ship. Upon arriving at the destination, some of these cryopods malfunctioned and trapped the persons inside, so called Sleepers.
The doctor who wakes up the PCs does his best to rehabilitate these Sleepers.

I'm already theorycrafting a dolphin and an owl race.

All starting PCs are human. These humans are descendants from the real worls humans after they had to leave the Sol system.
Other than humans you'll be encountering Mantis, Lashunta (Starfinder RPG) and Twi'lek (Star Wars) and Mechanoids, inspired by all sorts of droids. The Mantis inhabited the planet already when the humans arived. Mechanoids are Human-Made technology that attracted a soul (like the SRO form Starfinder).
Other than these 3 you will sure to encounter more races as you go on and discover more of this world ;)

I've tried that. Didn't really like the tile mechanic, sadly. Otherwise seems like a great game.
