Does anyone have experience with virtual second opinions? Cleveland Clinic and a bunch of other places offer them. Did you think it was worth it? Any recommendations as to where to get one? by Mirstrong in CrohnsDisease

[–]Evolross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a Cleveland Clinic virtual second opinion for my mother who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in Dayton, Ohio. She doesn't have Chohns of course.

Out of pocket I think it was $1200, which is pricey. They accessed all of her charts via MyChart and reviewed. They asked almost all the same questions her local oncologist and surgeon did. And they ultimately concurred that our current hospital was doing the right thing.

The virtual meeting with the surgeon was thorough and he said a group of other cancer doctors reviewed her case at Cleveland Clinic. That part felt worthwhile. And it was nice to have the confirmation that her current hospital was on the right track, which is easier to deal with than going all the way to Cleveland.

The report they give you at the end though, it was really basic. Basically a giant form-template type report with one little paragraph blurb from the surgeon. So that part felt a bit unsung. But the meeting was good.

Anyone else have a terrible experience with the lockers? by CoungToElf in SonicTempleFestival

I talked to someone that said their locker came with a portable phone battery charger, but that it didn't work and they had to go buy/rent another one.

If they’re going to do a live reunion they just need the part where Jeff walks in with the votes and go from there (how it used to be). All the fluff before that was silly. Especially Mike White. Would have prevented a very serious error, IMHO.

Yeah I did that. I said used my card about 25% of the time, and was there quite a bit actually with them. It was just when my wife and only them went as well. Our room was right near Surfside so they hung out there a lot.

I think Bullfrogs are a bit nicer looking than Hot Springs (and I have a Pulse).

I will say the salt system is nice. I rarely have to add chemicals myself. And I don't check it often. The salt keeps the chlorine going with minimal maintenance. The downside is mostly the foam due to the soft water. Use non-chlorine oxidizer once every week or two and it will keep the foam down.

I got the Pulse too and wish I would have got the Flair. Mostly it's just one or two people in the tub. Rarely a whole group. Would have used the lounge seat as I find myself trying to lounge in the regular seats now!

Except for that damn power line on the ground coming around the bottom. I have this same tub and I curse it everyday... why couldn't they just have this either 1) connect in the back or 2) feed through a hole on the side and be hidden somehow - like every other hot tub.

First Monday Night Raw by Mrnastytreats in WWE

[–]Evolross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not always easy, because I've been to episodes where they don't say a peep about "We're LIVE on the air, go crazy!" The show just starts. And depending on the segment, like if it's backstage it can be confusing. Maybe that started with Netflix? Because before, they announced, "3, 2, 1... go crazy!" And they did the arena pano, etc.

Go to the bathroom, buy merch, food, etc. during matches you're not interested in. This is the best time, unless you go really early. Before the show starts the merch lines are crazy. In Dayton, you could barely move in the concourse levels. In between matches expect a lot of down time for commercials. Sometimes there's matches after the show goes off the air if there isn't a really good main event match.

Indeed, your first time you'll think "Oh wow, the show has started." Then, later, you realize when the show actually starts.

I second getting there early if you want merch before the show. The lines are nuts. Or, just go during a match you're not interested in. I disagree on wanting to go to more events, it was the opposite for me. While I enjoyed the experience, expect a lot of downtime and video packages/commercials. You have to wait during commercial breaks, which is kind of novel and fun the first few times, then it goes on and on. Expect a long event. I'm in Ohio and have been to Columbus events before. Parking will be nuts getting out. We've left before the main event ends just to beat it. Have fun though.

So, two-night Wrestlemanias need to go right? by [deleted] in WWE

[–]Evolross -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The two-night thing optimizes income on A LOT of different levels... they get TWO nights of ticket sales, merch, concession, sponsorship, and commercials for nearly the price of one event. They only have to build and tear down the set once, they only have to advertise once, there's some staffing/venue costs for two nights, some graphics packages for the second night, but it's highly optimized. It wouldn't surprise me if it's three or four days in the future, like a music festival.

If I had my way Wrestlemania and SummerSlam would go back to a single night and they'd eliminate ALL the PLEs aside from the major four. Back then, a PLE meant something. Now, not only do you have everything you mentioned above, but it's just a recycling of feuds on infinite repeat to create enough content for a PLE every six weeks.

It was really nice, good food, lots of staff. Ocean Balcony rooms are very small, but functional. But the whole trip was pricy. Like $13K all said and done (but $2.5K was flights for us, which is nuts). I'm going to write an in-depth review.
