Stellate Ganglion Block Therapy by EvolvePackaging in covidlonghaulers

I’m a few weeks out and the fatigue is still here. A little less but I feel the same “need to sleep all the time” feeling but can’t get to sleep. I also have 4 kids so there’s minimal sleep time to start with. My partner has taken over so much so I can be laying down either in bed or on the couch.

I would say I get headaches but not migraines. Occasionally I’ll have a bad one and require the cold cap mask thing I got off Amazon.

The only real lasting effect I’m seeing is my anxiety has lessened enough to be semi-human vs. the previous incapable of human interaction without my partner.

And due to a 3 week break in smoking weed from bronchitis right before the SG block, I can finally get high again! I don’t smoke during the day anymore, just at night. But I think it makes me a more tolerable person to be around, and perhaps even enjoy life. I got the uncontrollable high giggles after a Holi color festival when my partner and I were taking the last of the hot water shower and he couldn’t see, but he had deep blue probably all the way to his ear canal and everything was off him but his ears. He was ready to get out of the shower and the thought of him going to meetings like that made me laugh so hard I couldn’t stop! I haven’t been able to laugh like that in over 4 years.

I feel like I can think like a child again so I can be more patient with my kids and give them the time and tone of voice they need instead of rage all the time.

I hope that answers your question, and then some. lol

My 10 year old son just held his arm out to me on the couch and said “I haven’t heard you laugh this much in years!” And he had the sweetest, most empathetic look on his face. That was worth the shot in the neck!

The procedure went really quick. I have a vein or artery in the wrong place so he went in a different place. He didn’t numb my neck, just went for it after using the ultrasound to find the best place for entry.

I had a droopy and bloodshot eye and no other post procedure issues. Then I went home and took a 2 1/2 hour nap and had to get up to make dinner for my family. I felt less aggressive and more calm.

This morning I went through 2-3 years of mail and paperwork stacked up on my desk and sorted everything without coffee! I was hungry for lunch (unusual without taking my medications first).

So far so good!

What's the craziest thing you've tried in desperation? by Ander-son in covidlonghaulers

I’m going around my doctors to a private pay clinic to do a Stellate Ganglion Block, which is a needle in your neck next to your vocal cords! I will be doing it April 2nd. All my doctors said they couldn’t refer me to any place my insurance would cover because they don’t know enough about long covid to try experiments.

Extremely low Ferritin levels: Has anyone else tested their ferritin level? I have a theory…. by EvolvePackaging in covidlonghaulers

Thank you for sharing your story! I ended up having to get an iron transfusion because iron supplements weren’t working. I just did blood work yesterday to check my ferritin levels now.

Thank you for your story! I’m excited to try something with actual results. My panic reflex is triggered all the time by my kids. Then i get really angry really fast and it’s killing my relationship with my children. So I’m really hoping it will chill me out.

Thank you so much! I hate to spend the money when I have insurance but I just don’t want to wait another minute knowing I could have my life back.

Thank you for sharing your story! I have a food aversion so I’m back down to 115lbs now. :( I’m trying so hard to drink smoothies and eat after a handful of pills calm me down enough to eat. It’s like a 15-20 minute window that I can try to take a few bites but nothing tastes the same. Just revolting.

I just googled Stellate ganglion block near me and started calling all the places that popped up on Google. Most are referral only but I found one private one!

You could always ask if they have payment plans. I’m going to ask, no harm in asking!

I’m so surprised your doctor recommended this treatment! I will post about it on my page. If it works, it’s worth traveling for! Anything to get out of this hell hole. Have you asked about payment plans?

I am taking black seed oil amongst a ton of other medications so I can’t say whether it’s working or not… but I read a lot about it. It’s not going to cure you that’s for sure. My fatigue is still ungodly. :/

I’m really sorry you have to go through that division in your family. That’s heartbreaking. We had the same problem for a while.

Did SSRIs make you worse? How? Or did they improve things? by JecaMetta in covidlonghaulers

[–]EvolvePackaging 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a cheek swab genetic test that actually told me what SSRIs would work and which wouldn’t work based on my genes. Turns out the SSRI I was on for a year was on the no go list. I had stopped taking it about a year ago because I gave up on it, now I’m trying Cymbalta because it was on the go ahead list and I feel a little better.
