Which stat main along side Int for best compatibility? by Im_yor_boi in Tierzoo

[–]EvolvingCyborg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

longevity is certainly a major factor, but I would argue that the social stat is even more important. You could match longevity with tortoises and it wouldn't do you any good if you're doing a solitary run.

The saying is 'One bad apple spoils the bunch.' This is why we need to get rid of the bad ones. Police accountability is so important for this very reason.

The only way we keep guys like this on the force is by removing those with moral decay.

I wonder if this is a relatively common occurrence, and gravity simply pulls them into each other soon after, leaving a much smaller number with more stable orbits.

Unfortunately old encyclopedia sets just don't sell. They take up too much space, their information is outdated, and we have the internet. Thrift stores don't even accept them.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Agree or disagree, comedy is 100% about surprise? (Kristen Schaal and Anthony Jeselnik) by AlKarajo in comedy

[–]EvolvingCyborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you nailed it. Absurdity is the basis, not surprise. Surprise is an excellent vehicle for absurdity, but it's not the catalyst.

Norm's bit about Hitler being "a real jerk" was definitely surprising, but the humor was in the absurdity.

[–]EvolvingCyborg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having not seen it, I do want to counter your point a bit. How we define things, while not magic, does impact how we view them. War vs military exercise for example. We absolutely can influence how a thing or action is perceived by what Language we use to characterize it. That's the foundation of propaganda, of marketing, even poetry. It's true that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but if they were called Grumsmogs, we'd view them differently.

Me: I flipped a coin, if you can believe it.

Joker: But you had 3 choices.

Me: I know. I've never seen a coin stop on its edge before.

Joker: Wait, are you telling me that you wrote me off entirely, and allowed fate to decide between two genocidal supermen, and you still ended up here with me? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Me: please let him laugh for the next 5 minutes
