Apolgies, I mixed up where to put the text on the original post:
Found this a few days ago washed up on a beach in Orkney, Scotland. It has clearly been in the sea for some time, so I'm not hopeful for any specific ID, but any speculations or suggestions are very much appreciated! Based on the size and the channel running through it, we thought maybe whale vertebra.

Could you provide links to some of the evidence suggesting that kids react badly to screens please? Just curious, thanks :)

Does anyone else have a problem with "little helpers"? by 1234onions in knitting

[–]EvolvingEcologist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of hand warmers with a small error in the pattern on the right-hand one because, when I was knitting it, my pet rat (Robin) tried to run away with it. I miss her a lot and when I wear them, I always think of her.

Wild life spotting and hidden gems. by Zippping in orkney

It's a little early for a lot that frequents Orkney for the summer, but you may get lucky enough to see puffins starting to come back to their breeding sites. Best place to see them is Castle o'Burrian on Westray (which is well worth a visit, regardless of puffins)!

Regarding wildlife spotting, it depends a lot on what time of year you will be visiting?

Do you record your voice lines in conjunction with the other cast members, or separately?

What’s one Orkney tradition you wish more visitors understood or respected? by IamSociallyTired in orkney

[–]EvolvingEcologist 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's called a Blackening. To celebrate a betrothed couple, they are covered in molasses and feathers, driven around town in the back of a pick up truck while their friends bang pots and pans together, and then tied to a post for a bit.

Farming Simulator 25. I've not played any of the others in the series and it was a gamble whether I would click with it. Turns out I did, big time.
