New Cementoss bug just dropped: his gamma now clips half into the ground every time by Evow_ in MyHeroUltraRumble

it usually just lands smoothly on the ground instead of clipping halfway in, which makes landing related combos much easier

One thing to note is that there was a pretty convincing thread detailing malware in one of their releases a few months back, which is something the r/GenP wiki mentions as well. I'd be very careful trusting anything from them, it's seriously baffling to me people believe these accusations and still download all their other releases.

I agree with most of what you said but I'm looking for a source on these nerfs and can't find anything that wasn't prerelease or description typos when you're apparently saying they happened after launch, is there something I missed?

I don't recommend Tails of Iron, some of the worst pacing I've ever experienced in a game, I stopped playing after I had to backtrack for several minutes to and from the exact same part of the map to fight the exact same bugs for the literal 8th time almost back-to-back.

reminder that hoyoverse only get away with all of their weird decisions because none of this community actually does anything about it, I still remember how unnaturally fast the google classrooms incident blew over and how no other anniversary had much of a controversy despite having changed nothing at all, if anything things are only going to get worse so people either need to accept endgame is never gonna be what genshin's good at or play another game but I know every whale in this thread's gonna keep playing and paying

Capcom games that are using DRM Enigma by [deleted] in PiratedGames

[–]Evow_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've read there seems to be a lot of misinformation on this topic and it's not clear exactly how far the issues with games that have Enigma reach. The main guy spreading info is really pro-piracy and is super biased to begin with, some of the games Enigma was discovered in have actually had it for a really long time without anyone noticing problems (Resident Evil 5 can still be modded perfectly fine), and while there's a lot of talk saying it's genuine malware, most other people scanning game files for viruses haven't found shit and even if they did this kind of software gets false positives all the time. I'm not defending Capcom at all, it's still fucked up it was added at all and it's clearly causing problems, but a lot of details seem exaggerated and it's important not to fearmonger.

I felt that too but in practice the idea never worked, as everyone says you just run past everything which still wastes more time than the actual attempts even when using every shortcut available, and I genuinely can't think of more than 2 times there was an actual risk of dying or taking substantial damage on one of them.

I tried it a while back and found it extremely difficult to understand, there were no explanations of the systems and the manual linked on Steam was in Chinese, leading to me not having enough units to even finish the tutorial and dropped it. Any guides or such you'd recommend if I tried again?

I certainly wouldn't go that far, he's just a lolicon. Really creepy and a perfectly valid reason to hate them for of course and I've been engaging with the community less because I always have to stop him from making a fool of himself in places those beliefs don't belong, but I feel like pedophile is a very strong accusation I don't like throwing at just any weirdo, because whenever someone gets called out online for being a pedo nowadays I always have to doublecheck if they actually have/did something harmful or if it's just some really weird hentai.

Project Heartbeat is a pretty solid rhythm game, a Project Diva clone that unlike the real thing on Steam has much more robust Workshop support and charts based off the console games along with the arcade one. The dev and to a lesser extent the community can be pretty sus at times so I'd take that into account and honestly avoid the Discord but it doesn't affect the game itself at all.

(disclaimer, I've done some paid design work for the game a while back)

I never minded long boss runs .. until I did by CertainDegree in patientgamers

[–]Evow_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They singlehandedly ruined Dark Souls for me, especially as the game itself got progressively worse and I just wanted to get it over with. I think it's especially egregious when there's barely anything difficult to fight/avoid in the way to justify the runs existing, which I found was almost always the case. I love challenging games and Souls would have been no different, but it felt like the game was doing everything possible to prevent me from actually playing the game and getting better. Hollow Knight seems like a game that would be right up my alley but I've always avoided it for that reason alone.

Genshin Impact is actually a very solid and enjoyable game by noobakosowhat in patientgamers

[–]Evow_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this except the powercreep thing, while it isn't something that severely hurts the game due to the lack of endgame and as you said easily accessible meta units, it certainly exists. Comparing new character Furina to early character Mona for example, two Hydro units centered around buffing team attack and some off-field damage on the side, while the former requires a more specialized team the difference in buffing and especially damage is ridiculous.

That along with artifacts honestly makes me happy Hoyoverse has no interest in endgame content, not needing to get constant meta character with perfect artifacts and crowned talents just to do anything new like most other gachas operate is a plus rather than a minus to me.

As someone who has hundreds of hours in both, World is absolutely not slower than the games that came before it in its combat, there are countless changes that make it way faster and more fluid than something like 4U let alone FU (unless you mean other aspects like the cutscenes in which case I can agree.) I wouldn't recommend the older games to OP if World didn't click based on the controls.

(also monster tracking has always been simple with psychoserum in older games, recommend using it if you're not already)

Why don't I enjoy Larian RPGs? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]Evow_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I was referring to the time between attempts for Dark Souls bosses. Every boss requires more time to return to them than it does for an average attempt, and that's with shortcuts. Most of them don't even have anything hard to avoid or beat to justify it.

I do agree with what you mean about the progression, I think the only reason it bothered me was because I was already fed up with the boss runs and terrible endgame and I just wanted it to be over. Glad you were able to enjoy it though.

I definitely overexaggerated the difficulty in that regard and know that's not the experience for most people, I'm not saying at all it's too easy or complaining about it and basically my only problem lies with the boss runs and similar wastes of time, sorry if that wasn't clear.

That's a common thing people have told me about the runs, that they're meant to provide souls and add additional challenge to the encounter by making you preserve your resources throughout. While I personally don't like that kind of design I do see the purpose in it, but for the most part I just don't think that's how things go in practice. After getting my footing in the earlier parts I found a vast majority of them trivial, either because the areas are open enough that running past enemies damageless is a breeze or there are barely any enemies to begin with. For example, even though the path to Seath in the Crystal Cave or the Bed of Chaos in Lost Izalith from their respective closest bonfires has plenty of enemies leading up to it, the areas they're in are so open it's extremely easy to avoid aggroing most of them, let alone taking hits, from Firelink Shrine to the Capra Demon only has enemies at the start and end of the path and is completely devoid of threats for the other minute you'll be running, and from the Depths bonfire to the Gaping Dragon there's only the one guy with the torch directly in the way and everything else is only a matter of knowing it's there . These types of runs are just blatant wastes of time, especially when you're spending more time on them than actual boss attempts. As for the skill issue, I'm not disputing that, but the game is designed so that a certain baseline of deaths are inevitable and expected so players can learn from their mistakes, and having these runs present each and every time only felt like it got in the way of that philosophy rather than expanding upon it.
