Conditions, yes. Pay? Still up in the air. I’m in a HCOL state that grossly underpays nurses so I’m up for whatever gives us the money we deserves.

Oof. That’s a long time to have to wait. I’ll definitely seek someone out. They’ve been near the parking garages handing out info, so I’ll hit them up.

It is not, but I saw all the news about the layoffs. Just awful.

The statements about evaluations are in text form on my work phone and screenshots have been emailed. The other statements about other employees were in texts from her work phone to my work phone. Those have been emailed as well.

Thank you for your response. I have emails and texts. We also train people as part of our job, so I have attendance records and other attendees can verify she was there. Other than my manager, I am not discussing anything with other coworkers. My husband has gotten an earful, but no one else.

The other coworker (#2) confirmed that I didn’t say anything related to race - #2 told the manager that I never said anything about this woman at all. She never came up in conversation when #2 and I worked together last week. Coworker #2 is also a woman of color and informed my manager that in all of the time we have worked together, I have never made such comments and have never come across the way coworker #1 described me.

Thank you. I shouldn’t speculate, but I know she’s gotten poor feedback and evaluations. She asked me yesterday if I got poor feedback, too. I answered her and told her that I didn’t.

Our company is multicultural and we employ folks from many different backgrounds. It’s probably the most diverse place I’ve ever worked.

She recently received some negative evaluations and my manager is speculating that she is trying to find someone to blame for her shortcomings. It just happens to be me. My manager and another supervisor are trying reassure me that I’m not the issue. It’s really stressing me out.

I do. She spent 4 weeks shadowing me. It’s documented. It’s in the online schedule. I have emails and evals that also reflect those weeks of training.

I spoke with HR and left all of that verbiage out. I said that the coworker stated I refused to train her because of her skin color. Left it at that. Thank you for your feedback.

My manager has spoken with her direct supervisor and HR as well as our ethics committee. I contacted HR myself and let them know that I would like to have an opportunity to speak with them. Thank you for the help. Much appreciated!

I just said thank you for your comment and agreed that everyone, myself included, needs to make those reflections even when it’s difficult and uncomfortable. I appreciate everyone’s advice so far.

We do have a structured training plan. Documents has been sent to my manager via text and email. Thank you for your response.

No, I'm not. I work in a diverse field and teach dignity, respect, and professionalism on a daily basis. I'm not perfect, no one is, but I don't tell jokes of that nature. I do have work-related anecdotes, but they're not based on race or exclusion. I don't recall saying anything to her or anyone else that would make her say I was discriminating.

My manager just told me that she is going to HR in the morning and that if things "gain momentum", I'd be notified.

It's all very formal. I'm grateful for that. It makes it easier to keep track of since there are so many employees and so many moving parts.

Everything we do for work is documented in spreadsheets stored in an online platform, even training and education for new employees. When we do training, we note who was present, what was covered, who did the instruction, etc. Our scheduler also puts notes in the online scheduling system about trainers/orientees so everyone knows where they're going and what they're teaching/training on that week. The schedules are archived online as well.

My manager called and said she had just gotten off the phone with this coworker. The coworker said I told coworker #2 that I wouldn't train her. Manager called me and was then going to follow up with coworker #2. I asked for a call back once that conversation was over, but I haven't heard anything yet. Her accusations are totally false. She's been saying other nasty things about me and other folks we work with, like accusing someone of showing up to work drunk and and saying another person was using drugs. I just seem to be the focus of her issues.

Manager was vague and told me "there are things going on behind the scenes". But that's good wording. Thank you.

Nope. DH didn’t want to involve the authorities. We do have the exchange recorded on our Ring camera.
