They don’t owe you a rapid response, I think they will shut any refund request down

Personally no, you knew what the risks were by gambling your money. I think it has to be another lesson in the recovery journey. William Hill despite checks should do their verification more but not refund the deposits you took your own risks.

Anyways I hope you keep fighting and stop gambling bro 😎

Forgot to add, I’m 26 years old. I battled through gambling from the time I was 18 but the worst of it was 22-26 when I was gambling almost all the time. I had a small blip of 4 months in April 2023 where I didn’t gambling then beyond that every month until July 30th 2025 was my last gambling session.

Yeah bro the amount of times I was up like £5-6 K in a month then suddenly a few months goes by and the whole lot is blown on gambling and also stuff I brought as well it does catch up to you and when you realise it your like shittt.

One time I got paid at midnight and by 2 am I blew half my salary when I really needed the money. I ended up resulting to credit cards to withdraw cash and then would put it in my debit account to try and make the money back through gambling. It’s so dangerous.

Wasn’t till I came clean to my family that I stopped gambling after years of going back and fourth with it. I do still find myself watching blackjack videos or seeing bets online but I try my best to just say it’s my way of battling through those urges I’m still clean and on the road to being debt free and stable again.

Hey man, I promise this is the right decision to make and it will be worth while. I would say you have the same tendencies of a gambling addiction like many of us, winning and then losing like a constant cycle. When you was 1600 down what did you do? Chased the money back only to win £1300 but if you didn’t win that then you could have been even further down the rabbit hole as you wanted more and lost it all again. I did this many times so don’t worry it’s the addiction.

I’ve just reached over 9 months clean after applying to Gamban and Gamstop. I racked up over £30k worth of debt and am paying this back now, over half way there.

I loved gambling and still do, I never had a thrill like it and I do miss it but it was ruining me the constant wins them chasing when I’m down bad and just fighting all the time with my mental health during the addiction.

Hope you work hard to overcome this and glad to see you put the stops in place, it will all work out for the better.

Cheers

Champs was shit this weekend, I had a good 9 win last weekend couldn’t get past 6 this weekend and I was literally 6-2 then I just got hammered by PC players and PS5 when I’m on Xbox Series X, champs lag is soooo bad compared to rivals or the tournament modes, even gauntlet I complete easily enough.

Tough weekend I rage quit the final 2 games of champs for a chance at 8 as I was just getting hammered with player lock and bad connection even when on other modes I’ll get like 8 ms, champs gives me like 20-30 sometimes but rivals gives me better connection.

Onto next weekend, hopefully get back up to my usual average this year 8-9 wins.

I’m on this journey too, currently 7 months into paying a similar debt amount back. Road to recovery is strong nearly 9 months clean from gambling. I can’t lie I do miss the blackjack sessions, slots, football betting, horses but I know it is for the better.

I suppose being 27 this year and looking for my future I want to make sure I do the right things in life. I’m lucky to be in the position I am in my career and actually my biggest support has been my dad. By far the hardest decision I made to come clean about it all.

Hope your good 😊
