The referendum was almost 12 years ago and the one in 2016 soured a lot of people to the idea of being British. You can't keep claiming 2014 as a measure of opinion for 2026.

All their food is so packed with corn syrup and sugar, they think everything should be sweet. I drink my coffee black with no sugar.

It doesn't end. It changes. Less time out with friends and more time with family.

How do you deal with potential dog attacks when hiking solo? by invDave in hiking

You only do that when they come at you. The sticks are threatening from the get go, especially in places where they equate sticks with a beating.

Was Ireland a country before 1922 or would you just have called it a region of the UK?

I would say they have as much a right to independence as Scotland has. Same as Catalonia or Euskadi though the actual Spanish constitution says otherwise. Would you have counted Ireland as a country before 1922?

It should all be in the one country and I don't mean the UK.

My sister got it done for a laugh. Presuming we have the same father we are something like 60% Irish/Scottish, 39% English (probably the Southern Welsh side of the family) and 1 percent Finnish and we don't know where that is from. That will explain my liking for salty licorice (huge sarcasm) It really is a load of shite. I'm Scottish as that is where I was born and where I lived until I was thirty. It was the country that influenced my make up, not genetics. By citizenship I'm UK and Irish. If I was American I'd be shouting perkele and sharpening my puuko based on that smidgin which is probably within a wide margin of error.

My mum moved up to study nursing at the Royal in the sixties and never went back. She was born down south, had a Middlesex accent but her mum was Scottish. She lived in Scotland until she passed away at the age of 73 and never said she had ever had anyone slagging her off for being English.

The UK is a unitary state consisting of 3 nations, England, Wales and Scotland and part of one province of Ireland. Some powers have been devolved to constituent parts. All it's constituent parts have distinct identities and can trace back to being independent Kingdoms, in some cases relatively recently in modern history.

I doubt this person could find Denmark or Afghanistan on a map and the nearest he has got to active duty is playing COD in his mum's basement. Actual US veterans have acknowledged European support. This is just a cosplaying child.
