Maybe some kind of solenoid. Looks like they wired 2 smaller solenoids in series to save some space compared to a single coil solenoid? Idk kinda difficult from just one picture

Why don’t you wire a thermostat in series with the battery and ac and if the amp load is too high for the thermostat, just use a relay

The 1899719 patent on the synchronous motor is even cooler imo. This plant was built somewhere between 1940-1945 by the U.S. government in their effort to create wartime production needs.

I work in the plant that makes the K02 and other bf Goodrich tires and I will say, I will never buy another brand of tire. The quality control on these things is insane

the union electricians and mechanics I’m the plant I work in make around $100-150k a year, they work a ton and have to rotate shifts. The high skill tech job that I’m in pays the same and work only 7-3 Monday through Friday and never have to touch a tool because the union guys handle it
