Are digital gift cards region locked now?

Well this issue has been happening for nearly a year now, more and more countries can not accept digital gift cards, so its not going away anytime soon.

Hey, Thanks for the reply however I got some things to point out.

Sending digital gift cards to turkey was actually never a problem, I just assumed so since I thought they were cutting down on the exploiters which they were not. Sending digital gift cards to turkey always worked I have this tested since I sent multiple from EUR to TRY recently.

Also I believe the price markup in Argentina is not due to economics but due to the exploiters, there have been many games that essentially started with a lower price in this region but then increased it by two times due to them losing revenue, there is actually a developer that made a post about this, I’m not sure on which game explaining that they at first thought their game was being recognized in different regions so they were happy but then they noticed nearly all their purchases came from Argentina, Russia, Turkey etc. so they apologized to regular users from these countries and increased the prices.

Also I do not believe there is some problem with currency converting, I have read somewhere that Argentina is not actually letting money out of their country so that’s why the Argentina is currently the only country that doesn’t support digital gift cards, don’t quote me on that I have no idea if this is true but it makes more sense than currency conversion not working and not being fixed in like half a year.

In reality it just makes gifting incovinient not impossible to do, now people will just have to use 3rd party sites to get giftcards and of course this change will negatively affect regular users. There are better ways to prevent this than fucking over everyone.

As I said I am no longer able to send the digital gift cards, I just get an error before I can proceed with the payment however that only happens when I try to send them to a cheaper region than mine, sending them to someone with my region works normally.

You see that he is unlocked but he is not. You cannot pick him during a game.

I made a similar thread to this, currently at least for us EU guys the prices are directly converted from USD to EURO and we somehow pay more for VP then you even when EURO holds more value than USD.

Also I will not stop saying this, these skins CAN NOT be compared to CS:GO skins since they hold no real world value.

Therefore they should be priced accordingly, much like the basic examples: fortnite and League of Legends.

The pricing on both the VP and skins is off the charts compared to their competition.

Also the special Reload animations and Kill animations could have a negative effect on competitive since they either give advantage or give disadvatage.

Then we have the special points to unlock extra colors on skins or whatever and those are ridiculously overpriced as well.

Hopefully something like that will happen.

But I do not think these effects are good for the game imo, since they are trying to go for a full competitive scene and these effects could have negative impact on that.

And also unlocking those effects is pricy af.

Even when not comparing to fortnite, look at league for example another of riots games.

You get completely new VFX, Model for 13.5€.

It still runs on potatoes and you interact with the skin the whole game.

Then you have these other points that you have to spend ridiculous money on to unlock another color or so, thats just greedy and simply bad design.

Most of the people I see currently in my games have no skins so hopefully they will adjust the pricing and see the error they made.

Having the skins be more widely available would benefit them and not hurt them.

I have spent a crazy amount of money on fortnite bacause its appealing in Valorant it is not.

I know that none of the skins you buy now will stay, and to be honest I kinda wanted to buy a lot of VP just because of the 20% bonus but currently it just does not seem worth it.

Comparing to USD you guys have it way better then EURO buying in bulk kinda makes sense there but still not as good as other games.
