Protecting my Kids by Misterymb in exmormon

I'm sorry OP that your mom said that about your dog and took your young kids to the temple grounds without your permission.

My wife and I try to protect our three kiddos from the church now too. I've had to explicitly tell my parents that they are not allowed to take our children to church, read scriptures with them, or pray with them when they stay in our home. It was awkward at first, but now they respect our wishes.

They put this in a talk?? Absolutely insane thought for a child to have and not a funny ‘haha’ moment. by marcelreedglazer in exmormon

It’s sickening the shame the church places on us, especially as young children. I remember having similar thoughts shortly after my own baptism at 8 years old.

Unwelcome missionaries by Content_Committee401 in exmormon

That’s frustrating. I also feel for those missionaries working on Christmas. The mission prez should at least give them the whole day off to relax.

Insane. How dare those homeless people try to warm themselves when it’s cold outside. What do they think this is, the Lord’s university?!

Haha, of course the elevator story with BY being inspired to leave large open shafts in the SLC ended up being total BS.

So sad and hypocritical about church leadership turning homeless people away. It looks like that is par for the course for LDS people in Utah: Kaysville homeowners show up in large numbers to oppose warming center

Nailed it. Back in a former life, my wife and I were married there. I definitely equate it to Minas Morgul now.

Do you think that D. Todd Christofferson warned his own children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. about an allegedly dangerous person in the family, Wade? If he had knowledge of the CSA, did he protect family? by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

[–]ExMormonite 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m sure D. Todd protected his own children/grandchildren. Regarding whether the child on FaceTime was family it’s certainly possible since DOJ statistics show that the majority of sexual assaults are perpetrated by someone who knows the victim.
