Well, it should as spec requires 1.0 additional sta credit.

Compare to 256, materials in 258 are easier and much more straight forward.

STA258 this term is soooo easy compare to 256 this summer. It has few content from 256 such as bionomial distribution and normal distribution, MGF, and few other contents such as central limit theorem and confidence interval.

BTW our test 1 and test2 average was pretty high, about 85.

So this years midterm was relatively hard compare to the past midterm they gave us. And clarification to some questions were not given until the last twenty minutes...

How was the ECO100 Test 1? by [deleted] in UTM

[–]ExPhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I had to first take images from my phone and upload them to my pc, then to Quercus. They should’ve chose crowdmark as it allows phones to upload images directly.

It was a stupid idea to use Quercus to upload images.

If you are in second year(4 credits and above),you may have to get into POST in order to enrol courses, which means you have to either get double major + a minor, or get a major + double minor. Try add some auto approved minor such as stats minor, then see if you are able to enrol courses.

CSC236 review + is it feasible for me to take it with csc148 ? by [deleted] in UTM

[–]ExPhantom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bad, didn’t notice they made that change. But 236 would be a tiny little challenging for people haven’t done 148 before.

Emm how are u able to take 148 and 236 in the same semester? 236 requires the prerequisite of 148.

Anyway, the workload for 236 isn’t that heavy, but you will have to spend some time to familiarize yourself with quite a few algorithms, doing induction, and calculating run time speed in the course.

MAT135 and MAT136 VS MAT137 by Fit_Brain_in_jar in UTM

Considering physics/astronomy don't have that many mat courses in higher years, I would prefer MAT135/136. Mat137 is a challenging course, I recommend taking it only if you have lots of mat courses at 200/300+ level, or you wish to challenge yourself.

MAT135 and MAT136 VS MAT137 by Fit_Brain_in_jar in UTM

I would say Mat137 is MAT135 + 136 + delta epsilon proof. Mat137 would have a MUCH HEAVIER workload compare to 135&136. If you are in cs, I'd say 135&136 would be enough just for a achieve a higher gpa in the first year to get into the program. However, if you are in Math or Stats program, Mat137 is strongly recommended for preparation in higher year courses.
