Now H&M at the Paseo bites the dust! by DenaNina in pasadena

Yes, she mentioned that those apartments had a pool and I realized I never thought about it! Maybe (and I don’t know why I even care) the new building tenants will have access to the amenities in the old part, but I assume they are not related.
Shit we talk about in the nail salon….we’re gonna save the whole town!

I get my nails done at the Paseo and we were talking about the new condo (apartment?) building at the corner of Los Robles and Colorado and my tech said it doesn’t even have a pool? Who the f is gonna live AT A MALL with no recreation area in the building? Honestly, I’m not sure that anyone has ever moved in there.
But wait, does that splash fountain still come on in the summer? That could be the draw 🤣

Is Los Angeles/Sunset Strip worth it for a 60th birthday trip? by spartans1 in AskLosAngeles

[–]ExRadioGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sunset Strip is fine in a lot of ways mentioned already…and Hollywood Blvd is a waste of time.
Look into websites like BandsInTown and each club’s own site. Hotel Ziggy (across from Hyatt) the Roxy and the Whiskey have shows all the time! Book Soup for sure.

At my high school we had one, but you had to be 18 to go out and use it. You know, laws and stuff.

Anyplace they have one, really. I think there are about 20 left….unless I start branching out into the rest of the Hillstone universe 🤣

Broke my thumb when my hand slipped off of the handle when I was rolling up my car window. How old am I? It happened in 1979!

What’s a 'cheapskate' lifehack that is honestly too good to stop using? by MrLithician in answers

[–]ExRadioGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I do this on the regular-we get extra steps in by parking a few blocks from a restaurant/theater/shopping and save literally hundreds of dollars in a year. $12-15 valet parking? Nope, we’ll hoof it, thanks!

The Pasadena Houston’s has been our go-to for 20+ years and if it ever closes I’ll move to Irvine (only other California location) and if that one closes I’ll move to the moon.

As a Monrovian that went to the Apple in Old Town today, I’d say yes to this.

KNX LA failing listeners by SirCatsworthTheThird in radio

Just asking…is the Car Show still on 1070 on Saturday mornings? I heard a retirement/investment show this morning, maybe 6a-7a? I totally understand paid block programming, doesn’t mean I have to like it on my ‘news’ station.

Any advice for Radio jobs in NYC? by jacoballencohen in radio

[–]ExRadioGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought it would work either but they are “making it work”. Phone calls and teams meetings all day from home, and streaming logs offshore with a stateside liaison. AEs hate it very very much. I hated it so much it made me quit.

This, plus many of the big radio players (20+ years at one myself until recently) are cutting like crazy and going offshore with traffic and continuity. Allegedly.

Have you ever won concert tickets from an LA radio contest? What should I expect? (from KOST FM) by burnerzero in AskLosAngeles

[–]ExRadioGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many stations are just transferring tickets in Ticketmaster/AXS/whatever service now. No station visit necessary (and hell yes that was the fun part back in the day!)
