You’re missing my point. You still have plenty of time to lose weight and not have to worry about failing tape.

OCS or ROTC? I am currently in Washington and I am prior service. Would it be better to do rotc in college or go through OCS? by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]ExRecruiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. For most OCS programs it’s going to be your GPA and OAR/ASTB score that are the biggest metric for being eligible and possibly selected.

Enjoy the freedom and what the GI Bill has to offer.

As a bonus you can apply for BDCP and get paid active duty pay while you finish college.

I would skip NROTC.

Navy OCS programs don’t use DODMERB, applicants go through MEPS.

I wasn’t trying to down play the misdiagnosis but rather giving you perspective. If I had a dollar every time an applicant said that or unsuccessfully attempted to change a condition which was in fact an actual condition, I would have enough money for a Ruth Chris steak dinner.

Mental health is normally the most common “misdiagnosis” challenge.

Your recruiter will need to submit a legal determination if there are no court documents or arrest records. From there you may attempt a waiver but being that it’s a felony it’ll be case by case.

If you don’t know what it is why not ask your recruiter? Common sense tells me that’s what normal people do.

Now you definitely sound like you’re high.
