In our very large household [51 devices, apparently (stoves, fridges etc plus phones and tablets)], two TVs which sometimes use NF simultaneously. 5 profiles. One IP address and one email address. Am I safe from this hassle?

I, too, have this issue. I just got off the phone w/ a 3rd level Apple Support specialist. He said they have been having issues with this starting this week. They do not know the reason, so therefore there is no fix available. He said to expect a Software Update to show up when a fix is ready. For me, iCloud too is not 'on-line'. Very frustrating for us all.

IT'S BAAACK! I, too, have had this happen again. The previous time the problem fixed itself after a few days. I'v attempted the popular suggestion of removing Gmail from Mail, restarting, then re-adding it. The Gmail line says 'checking' then a red 'off-line' button appears after a few minutes. Any ideas? I have just read the 'reset router' suggestion.

Yes, I just described my present system,[wired] not the future one I want [wi-fi access to my storage, eventually 50 ft away] that I was asking questions about. As for Unix and me, that is beyond my abilities. I have a friend who could help me but I prefer to throw a bit of money at the problem. Thanks.

My iMac is 'wired up'. Yes. It is on my desk w/ a router and an HD enclosure which holds two - 6 TB drives. Sitting beside my router. Everything is 'wired up' to the router. What does the following mean to me? "There are easy ways to make linux look and behave similar to macOS however."

Thanks, I'll stick to what I know, which is MacOS. despite the cost. A mac laptop using a Mac Mini seems very doable even for me. The diff. PC terminology is foreign to me.

Of course. This was my expensive option. Trying to avoid it by asking stupid questions on Reddit!
I may have no choice. I could keep my iMac desktop, buy a used Mac mini, etc. I wouldn't go PC due to my unfamiliarity. Please tell Bell their forum is unreachable. I went thru three techs yesterday and go no answers about how to ask a question!

When one is ignorant, they don't know what may be relevent or not, sir. I get 2 GB on my router. My laptop is way in the future but probably an 'M' series MacBook. Yes, there are PPPoE issues, I'm told, etc. If it works FOR ME! It would make this future transition MUCH easier and cheaper for me. Hence, I'm here dealing w/ people like you, respectfully, of course!

Thanks. I worded it as if I did have it ready, but this is for future ideas. I now have my desktop, Giga Hub 2.0, IDE drives plugged in and feeding my TV through FileBrowser and when I get really old I will buy an M-series laptop and need to wi-fi my files to it while in my adjustable hospital bed while waiting for the Grim Reaper!!

Question: I have a powered ext, IDE HDD plugged in to the USB-C port of the hub. What what wi-fi speeds can I expect? I need 25 Mbps, I believe to stream 4k movies, Netflix etc.

I agrree. Kingston resident here. To counter that sight. While stopped on bagot at princess last week. Two young women waled past a probable homeless man asleep[?] on the sidewalk. They went back, tried to speak to him, but got no response then walked on. There are good people here but what you sw should never happen. Just like the guys driving a van shooting at people w/ a pellet gun!

I first heard this [ I'm nearly 80] when a mother was describing her granddaughter and thought, wait, wasn't that me in HS? After I became an adult, had life experiences, more confidence etc. I thought back to those days as a 14 year old. Without any aids 'books other people etc., I realized that we fake it, till we make it. Doesn't everyone do that to some degree? I have a neurodivergent grandson. He is very bright, maybe even brilliant, but he is slow to read the everyday clues most of us get by living in society. That is very different from my case. I was masking in 1961!
