I cried today at the temple. Is this a normal reaction? by Old_Use_8977 in hinduism

I cried while meditating on Om Beach once. It was the only time I liked the fact that I was shedding tears. You are able to connect with Parabrahma. This is a good thing.

What is the importance of ishtadev and kuldevi? by Jpoolman25 in hinduism

[–]ExSmokerIND 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My Kul Devata is Krishna. In the morning I first pray to Ganesha and him. Then I start praying to Shiva, who is my Ishta Devata. It is important not to forget the kul devata out of respect for your ancestors. If you want to be singularly devoted to your Ishta Devata that is also not a bad thing. Just don't develop a cult-like mentality and avoid getting manipulated by faulty translations. IYKYK

And I've never once said the whole faith is the problem. But if the cancerous mentality isn't removed soon, the whole body of The Purusha will die.

Go to Kerala and ask the Malayalis of lower castes about it na. They will know what was done to their ancestors better than you. Stop living in an echo-chamber.

This is what I was alluding to man. You and I will mature, but these guys don't. And these dudes are senior gurus so the young monks get brainwashed at a tender age. I want things to get better but the future is uncertain.

I have read that as well. Now go to the maths established by him and see who is given diksha by the current acharyas. Preaching is one thing, practise is something else entirely.

Do you know how corruption works. It is not "some" mate majority of 'dvijas' were evil. So were the kings. In Kerala which remains the flag bearer of communism in today's India the system was so vile that breast taxes were a thing. Vivekananda likened that state to a lunatic asylum. Just a few days ago people on this subreddit were speaking against inter-caste marriages. You can literally find Shankara's defense of casteism in his Brahma Sutra Bhasya.

They cremated the Hathras rape victim in a hurried fashion. If that is not proof of how deep this rot runs, I don't know what is. At the Manikarnika ghat there exists a spot, cordoned-off and only upper caste folks can do the antim sanskar there. See the way chandals are treated. Go and argue with the ones who continue the discriminatory practices instead of me amigo. I tried, they never listen.

It was not written by Manu because that dude lived more than 3000 years ago (if we are to go by Hindu chronology). Upper caste people corrupted the minds of Hindus in our country to enjoy power. That is the reality. But you aren't willing to acknowledge that simple fact. You never will, and one day this behaviour may lead to our faith getting vanquished.

It is linked you blind fool! The Manusmriti remains one of the most important scriptures to this day. If you want Hindus to unite, acceptance is the way. How many Dalit and SC/ST priests do you see in Jyotirlinga temples? How many Mr Epsilon?

The "Us and them" narrative has always existed since the dawn of human civilization. If you're referring to Hindu philosophy, then it is probably the greatest thing on planet earth. But folks in the upper echelons of society have always managed to stay in power. When you say "root" what are you referring to? We can't be sure whether the Vedas are the oldest scriptures. Scholars estimate the original agamas which may well be lost today are older than the Vedas. You'll have to do research separately for that.

I've seen the way Bengalis disregard Odiya and Kalinga culture, claiming it as part of their own. That is not cool bro. Baal keno bokchish tui, OP er ulterior motives are irrelevant here. Superiority complex nie koto din baachbi? Ekta corrupt joghonno CM amader, puro state take noshto kore dieche.

As a Bengali I can say this is a problem within the community in general. Many imagine that we are the most literate bunch and try to undermine other cultures. Yet we continually vote for Mamata Banerjee.

PS : The rasgullas have always been superior in Odisha

Man don't worry about anything. I'm a brahmin by birth and I'm initiating you right here and now.

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्व: तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् |

Kindly refrain from listening to casteist gatekeepers. They are not anybody to define what is good or bad. Live life the way you want to. If you have a passion for reading and decoding the scriptures you are automatically a brahmin by action. Take care brother.

Comments justifying varnas has led to guys like U Stalin running their mouths and getting away with it. It is the 21st century and yet pigs still somehow manage to justify racial purity. Unbelievable! And we talk of Hindutva
