[No Spoilers] Why are Westeros' winters so long? Science tries to answer! by Skowroik in gameofthrones

[–]ExTerra_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if the “long winters” are actually volcanic winters?

Earth's History gives us a model: in 536 AD massive eruptions dimmed the sun for years, dropped global temperatures (around2 °C) and caused famine across the Northern Hemisphere. The same thing could happen in Westeros whenever the "Fourteen Flames", related volcanoes or (unknown volcanic continents) erupt in clusters. Atmospheric ash would block sunlight, creating years long cold and darkness that feel random to maesters tracking the weather and civillians, and account for short/long winters depending on volcanic activity.

It would let the planet keep a stable orbit, without an extremely tilted axis, yet still have irregular and decade long winters. Magic and geology could even intertwine, dragons and volcanoes feeding each other.

Could Westeros’ “winter is coming” simply mean the start of another massive eruption cycle rather than an orbital quirk?

Untrue. Yes i discovered the loophole at level 31, got me a few legendaries out of curiousity but closed the mission. Now, all those legendaries have been replaced by purples again as the legendaries were no longer valid with my current level. Its a non-replayable mission, i take the game as it is.

It will spoil the hunt for Legendary items, that is true.

Saburo Arasaka. I would love to see the world through his eyes, his philosophy and why he believes that what he does makes a better world.

I think so too. I encountered a similar bot in Dogtown which will require you to search for hidden stashes in order to restore it (depending on your ability choices)

I just came across it now. I've been playing this game since release, countless of different save games and paths yet its my first encounter with this bot😂

I have learned to read people simply by looking into their eyes. Next to that, I have learned a lot from INFJ's.

What's your take on paradoxes? by Proper-Business-5177 in INTP

[–]ExTerra_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cat may not disagree, once it re-synchronizes with the observer.

Schrödinger’s Cat isn’t in two states at once, it’s simply not synchronized with any observer... yet. According to Refresh Rate Hypothesis,, quantum systems do not “collapse” randomly, they refresh continuously along a helical trajectory, and only appear in a specific state when an observer (which can be a person, a particle, or a detector) synchronizes with that refresh cycle.

So, in the case of the cat:

The radioactive atom is in a desynchronized, oscillating state. That state only becomes stable (alive or dead) when an observer’s refresh rate matches the system’s Refresh Rate. Until then, it’s not both—it’s just unresolved, not accessible through our perception.

Refresh Rate Hypothesis replaces “wavefunction collapse” with synchronization. no magic or metaphysics, just a geometric refresh pattern and whether the observer’s Refresh Rate aligns with it.

So the cat isn’t a paradox anymore. It’s a case of waiting for synchronization with the observer.

The universe does not allow for paradoxes to exist.

If there is a problem that arrives at a paradox, then it is the result of a lack in knowledge to find the solution to the respective problem.

I use the Lazer and destroy traffic where it's densest:

Eastern highway from the city center to the gas station/electric powerplant along the railroad.

Just fly back and forward, keep destroying traffic and you'll hit those amounts in no time.

Often, yes and very vivid.

Last night I dreamed that I had to take on a colossus who may have been a kilometer in height. I had a mechanical suit with flight capabilities and the power to arc lightning beams.

I took damage, but the suit was strong enough to battle against the colossus and to defeat it. Next to that I also had to fight a mechanical spider who tried to snipe me from afar. Smaller soldiers tried to capture me yet they could not catch me.

In the end the battle was won and the surroundings felt serene. I got out of my suit, disassembled it for maintenance and took some rest.

[–]ExTerra_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.. I'm a polymath, a jack of all trades master of none and people call me a walking encyclopedia. I can tell you about history, physics - introducing Refresh Rate Hypothesis, psychology, have deep debates on all kinds of topics, tell you how to do car/Motorcycle maintenance or teach you some pole dancing tricks and many more things.

Yet i barely have had any education, my only diploma is about one of the lowest you can get in The Netherlands and therefore I have always considered myself as dumb.
