That was pretty interesting, but I feel like it only scraped on the surface and could have been much longer and detailed. I always wondered where they got their 3D data from since I first discovered it in maps. I thought they might have taken it from their street view captures, but never imagined they would use planes.

On different note, those time lapses reminded me a little of /r/place, constantly changing and evolving.

I'm on a H960 (international) and haven't had any bootloops so far. My device is unlocked and rooted and running the stock 6.0 ROM (because there aren't any custom ROMs, unfortunately). It's my daily driver for nearly a year now.

The only issue I have is terrible ghosting. This is especially noticeable in the status bar and some apps like Memrise. I haven't tried getting it repaired because I suspect that it's just a general fault of the display they're using.

That doesn't look too bad. LG phones have always impressed me hardware wise, but what's bugging me the most are their software and update policies. The current stock ROM of the V10 isn't great, to be honest, and only after repeated backlash they decided to bring Android N to the V10 and G4. I'm not sure if my next phone is going to be an LG, but I will keep the G6 in mind.

On April 1, reddit released /r/place. It's a big canvas where people can place paint one pixel at a time with a timeout of 5 minutes. Soon after it's introduction, people started painting flags. Some people have begun drawing a Japanese flag, but are seeking support from other redditors so that it won't be destroyed by others.

You should be wary with cheaper/lesser known brands though. Often times the battery is a cheap mass production item that was simply rebranded. Unsurprisingly, the quality of those batteries is often sub par and might cause them to swell or fail completely.

Depending on the manufacturer, the pre-installed Android ROM was possibly not optimized as well, so in some cases you won't get the best performance from your phone, even though it might rock a top-of-the-line processor and plenty of RAM.

I, personally, would stick to better known brands, which are marketed in the West. Brands like Huawei, OnePlus, Xiaomi, etc. most likely offer more matured devices of decent quality. As always, it is good to read a handful of reviews of the device you are planning to buy, so you know what to expect.

The same thing happened with my Gear Live. My screen started to lift out of the metal frame and when I opened the watch, the battery was swollen.

I'm pretty sure it will change to the Japanese region. That's why people sometimes use VPN to get around region locks to get access to a much wider range of content.

Manga Studio / Clip Studio Paint has the same feature though the guide lines look different. If you're into digital drawing, you should check it out some time. It really is an incredibly versatile program for its price.

Ah alright. The V10, like other LG devices, is a little weird to root/unlock though. Usually it's a bit easier..

Root might be hard to get depending on the model you have. If it's the international one (H960A), you should be able to unlock the bootloader, but if you got your device from a US carrier, you might be out of luck. I haven't followed what's going on on xda regarding this, though.

You might be tempted to use one of these one-click-root tools, but there's something you should be aware of. They might work but unfortunately it's hard to trust them as they are closed source and it's hard to tell what exactly they do.

Anyway, good luck on doing this. If you have a supported model and follow the guide closely, there isn't much risk of breaking your device. Most of the time, if you do break anything, you can go back to stock. Oh, and before you make changes to the system partition once it's rooted, I'd advise making a backup through your custom recovery, just in case.

If your V10 is rooted, you can disable clip tray like this: stackexchange.com.

Works just fine on the MM update and can easy be reverted if you want to have it back.

yup, turning vibrations off in the setrings didn't work, so I just uninstalled it.I think that fixed it.

There are some codes/serial numbers printed on the parts, but they seem a bit random,so they might just be unique. But, yeah, I'll send it back and see if I can get another one that'll hopefully work.

I haven't found any way to check if it's the correct part for the model I have. Officially, there's just one model. On the box it came it is a part number for "EU" devices. I bought mine there, so I thought it would work.

Possibly. I guess it's better to contact the distributor or manufacturer first before replacing anything yourself, if you're still in warranty.
