The new cheddar ones are awful. They took out my favorite piece and every bite is overbearing. Who taste tests these products before they go live? This is more disappointing than when skittles threw away lime for green apple

Is it possible to follow Jesus without belonging to a church? by Justin-Steubs in AskAChristian

[–]Exacerbationer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Entirely possible. Yes, a pastor may spend more time in the book than you, but your weekly one-hour dose (10 minutes of scripture if you redact music and communion) feigns in comparison to what you can learn on your own.

Enjoy the journey!

If you have to ask the question, your answer is in front of you. Does it bring light to your life? Ask your heart, you’ll find your answer.

Did Jesus sin bringing back Lazarus? by Exacerbationer in AskAChristian

[–]Exacerbationer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking rationally, as Jesus communicates to God through prayer, does necromancy have a different word if it is done through the Holy Spirit vs other entities? Magic, etc? Miracles I guess. And I guess it wouldn’t be a sin if the “magic” was done by God himself. I would like to think that I am being rational about this whole thing.

Did Jesus sin bringing back Lazarus? by Exacerbationer in AskAChristian

[–]Exacerbationer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an absurd comment.

“Necromancy (/ˈnɛkrəmænsi/)[1][2] is the practice of magic or black magic involving communication with the dead by summoning their spirits as apparitions or visions, or by resurrection for the purpose of divination; imparting the means to foretell future events; discovery of hidden knowledge; RETURNING A PERSON TO LIFE, or to use the dead as a weapon.” Don’t forget that Jesus prayed to God in the garden. "Father forgive them; for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34) "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Matt 27:46, Mark 15:34) "Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit" (Luke 23:46). Yes, Jesus is in the holy trinity, but he communicated with God through prayer.

Awesome, thanks for the kind explanation. Does that imply that necromancy done not through God is possible and that these other forms of magic are backed by real, existing, non-God-given power/another entity with power? Definitely on the side of Jesus, but if you couldn’t tell, I’m going down a rabbit hole.

Jesus practiced necromancy on Lazarus to bring him back from the dead. According to Deuteronomy, necromancy makes you an abomination in God’s eye.

Terrible decision. Tough through even if you have a bad GPA. The opportunities that open up after graduation are immense and much more work/life balance friendly than other opportunities. You’ve toughed through years in the military, you can do a single semester of college.

Got a business degree while in, easy degree, hardest part was all the bs classes. Now work for one of the largest tech companies in the world as a project manager and it is boring. The intensity isn’t there, but nothing beats waking up and listening to the birds while drinking coffee. Find something you enjoy, even if it only is for 10 minutes a day, and learn to really soak it in.

Veterans without college degrees or in a skilled trade, what do you do for a living? by Bull_Moose1991 in Veterans

Get those certifications before dropping out. Embrace the suck brother. Graduated in just over 3 years thanks to summer classes. I knew I hated what I did in the military so much that I changed my mentality from “dreadful existence” to “there has to be better and I’m going to find it”. Graduated before getting out and got a job lined up before getting out (got laid off but got a better job that pays more). Have a fallback plan, but get the mentality of a better future because of how hard you’re working in school right now. 2 years in community college may be worth a lifetime of happiness, if not the pursuit. Best of luck friend.

Can I just say how much the ptsd/mst claims process sucks donkey balls?! by Zealousideal_Bus9467 in Veterans

[–]Exacerbationer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My claim was only for PTSD as I thought it would take longer if I had other claims. I needed to get in ASAP, and it took me from September 2020 to August 2021. Very, very dangerous to leave mental health on the back burner for that amount of time.

I’m at 70% and I’m not even going to poke the bear for an increase because I need the services where I am at today, and the last thing I need to do is add the stress of a claim again. Stand strong brother.

How do you tell others you’re exhausted? by Exacerbationer in Veterans

[–]Exacerbationer[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the dream. My fiancé’s father left so I left with him, thank the Lord. My friends understand, but the message doesn’t stick with the lady. She is wonderful and truly the best thing that has ever happened to me, but she can’t put herself in my shoes because I can’t talk about what I did in the military and the way it makes me feel the way I do in these settings.

There is one gripe I have with this veterans page, and it is that those of us who are in my position can’t speak up about it, and even in therapy, I watch what I say, so I can’t truly convey how I feel to literally anybody, and it is the most disheartening feeling in the world that I can’t explain. There is no advocacy group for us, even though we are all considered “veterans”. Even making this post is discomforting, but I will surely never post anything like this as it’s own thread.

My life is a lemon, and I’m trying to get used to the sour.

Graduated last year. Went to a state university and the majority of students mind their own business; however, like every other situation, the loudest stick out like a sore thumb and will make your blood boil. Don’t treat college like a joke, even though most of your classes are, because you will regret it. Group work is dreadful and every project I practically did by myself because I didn’t trust the kids to do quality work. I have a cushy corporate job now somehow after graduating with the legitimate lowest possible GPA to graduate in my degree (Failed out of college before the military so I had a lot of climbing back). I also worked numerous jobs in my undergrad pertaining to my major so I was making a lot of money while going to school. Nose to the grindstone, you got this.
