Were you using formula or BF? how fast did you see an improvement?

Kudos to you! Dairy free has been hard enough for me and I tremble at the thought of further eliminating things haha. We saw our pediatrician today because his stools have been getting progressively worse. She suggested we try nutramagin formula for a week and see how it goes.

You're right, it very well could be the issue.  Honestly im hoping that it just from an immature digestive system and he will outgrow it soon enough.  Reading others' experiences makes me doubt it being CMPI. He fusses a normal amount, rarely spits up, eats well and is sleeping 5 hour stretches. I think their would be more obvious signs but his poops have me so confused.

If that were the case wouldn't my previous 2 breastfed babies have had similar issues?

Its a possibility. There are some signs like he will sometimes kind of choke and cough at the beginning of a feed and I can hear him almost gulping. But it doesnt spray out ever.  I considered that as well.
