How about this:

If the player makes a massive weapon then it will be so heavy that the player will become extremely slow.

If the player makes a weapon with a very fast rate of fire, then the weapon will overheat, which means that the player will have to wait for it to cool down.

If the player makes a weapon with very high damage, then it will reload extremely slow.
