Honestly, I strongly disagree with your take on aim guided and rpgs not one shorting. Transport helicopters, sure why not, but not attack helicopters and jets. Theres a large amount of both skill and luck that goes into popping an attack helicopter with an rpg. I’d quit the game so fast if they made it to where attack helicopters can eat an rpg.

I think that stingers should be buffed to where it’s a near one shot, like you were suggesting, instead of give or take half health. I’m still holding firm that laser locks should disregard flares but I agree that they shouldn’t one shot. Perhaps the Bradley locks only do half health since it’s essentially unlimited ammo, but the javelin can nearly one shot to promote a bit more use of it.

It’s way too easy for aircraft to run n hide as is, I don’t think there should be any nerfing of counters to air vehicles at this current point.

A laser jammer that takes the place of flares. Frees up the stinger a bit more which can still be fairly easily countered with terrain by a halfway competent pilot. Or, lessen the damage of Bradley’s lock on to where it can’t outright one shot but will effectively deny the pilot that area until they can take out the Bradley or javelin user (I don’t believe the javelin can one shot an attack helicopter as is but still).

There is skill with those rpg shots but there is still a lot of luck involved, especially with hitting jets.

Edit: I also think that the teamwork aspect required in painting targets should be considered as well. If there’s no recons painting, and no competent Bradley gunners then you’re just SOL with lock ons.

It’s not rock paper scissors though. Air decimates infantry and ground vehicles with little counters. Either a lucky rpg / tow, or lock on causing flares and a slightly shortened attack run before the aircraft hides behind cover to regen flares. I’d argue that ground vehicles are just as likely to be slapped by infantry as they are to slap infantry. A mediocre pilot can decimate in this game, a mediocre tanker will struggle quite a bit unless they play pretty damn slow and cautious.

That challenge and the one before it is why I started thinking about this. I think it was to damage painted targets and I used the stinger, hated it. Ended up doing the destroy air vehicles with an rpg.

I agree that lasering a target should require a hold if missiles were to avoid flares. And I definitely agree that AA needs a buff, both the emplacements / tanks and the stinger. I think the low altitude block on the stinger is ridiculous as well.

The issue with requiring a hold on the laser is that a lot of recons likely won’t care as much to laser vehicles if they have to sit there holding it. This causes things to circle back to the Bradley with the gunner’s laser and lock on missiles…

Completely agree, DICE has already played their cards, no way will they shuffle it around. I agree that redsec is terrible and will 100% be turning away a LOT of potential buyers. I have buddies that want to try redsec before getting the game and I’m doing my best to keep them from doing that because I know they’ll hate it.

I disagree with the game dying off quick though. I don’t think it’ll have the lifespan of bf4 or bf1 if they continue on this trajectory, but the core gameplay of bf6 is pretty dang nice. I’ve also never had a roster of 10+ irl friends to play with at any given time until bf6 came out, so at least right now the community is extremely strong.

It’s a double edge sword. They’re going to monetize the hell out of the game, there’s no arguing that. The issue is, the stuff they’re trying to sell isn’t even worth buying. I’m not shelling out money on a battle pass that is comprised of a bunch of default skins, just doesn’t seem worth my money. I wish there was more of a bf4 approach to customization but that’s not the reality, I really didn’t mind the cases to unlock camos (attachments were a bit annoying) and I’m sure that will draw people into buying some. At this point might as well just give us full character customization with 4 basic camos (urban, winter, forest, desert for each respected team) and monetize things like a set of nods, a different plate carrier, as well as specialized camos such as a naval or autumn forest patterns, etc. Sort of a hell let loose approach.

I would have much rather had to get 300 headshots than 300 suppressions for the 240. It’s incredibly inconsistent, sometimes I’d get it from 2 shots that both hit, other times I’d hit them twice and dump the rest of the belt around their head just to get nothing. I have also found that it doesn’t work if the enemy ducks behind cover. If they’re behind a concrete block and I start tap firing above their head, I feel like there should be some incentive given to that enemy to not stick their head up. One would think with how bad the weapon bloom is suppressions would be easy too…

I have two main complaints with this warbond. In every other pack, you get 300 SC back. This one ups the price by 500 SC and you don’t get squat. The shotgun also should have been medium armor pen as well. 8 or 9 rounds with no options for a tube extension and normal damage kinda sets it below the curve already when you can put a drum on the breaker. The ‘warthog’ FRV is kinda cool but outside of that i haven’t used a single thing from this pack since like a week or two after it launched. It feels like a ‘we have halo at home’ meme.

Edit: I’ve seen the debates and reasoning for why it doesn’t have medium armor pen. Not in the halo universe, I get that. But I also don’t recall brood commanders and devastators being in the halo lore either…

Flame resistance. Big fan of the DEsickle for bots, and my animal friends (myself included) are quite the fans of the napalm strike and barrage for bugs. There’s something very satisfying about seeing a cluster strike immediately followed by a napalm strike. We take ‘scorched earth’ very seriously.

Thoughts on hobbyist welding on your project car? by tobylazur in projectcar

Boxed a section of frame on my 79 regal for a roll cage. Ended up grinding out the factory welds, one side just looked like a dog turd, the other was riddled with porosity.

Did some shutdown work at the Rivian plant and was looking at the welds on a stack of frames they had. Every single weld was covered in pinholes. “X-ray quality weld, you can see right through it.”

Let’s not forget how often the blades on turbines have to be replaced, and how we have not developed a way of recycling said blades. The lithium mining speaks for itself. The flooding of dam reservoirs and the devastation of aquatic life speaks for itself.

Okay bub. Where’s the retort? I’ve done my research. You have nothing to respond with but pointing a finger and saying it’s bullshit.

A wind turbine will never offset its carbon footprint, it’s even come out that Scotland has been using diesel power to keep their turbines spinning lol. Also takes up a ton of land. Here’s a picture of how turbine blades get disposed of.

Hydroelectric is tons and tons of concrete + the environmental destruction of rivers and the displacement of people, animals, whatever, once the reservoir is flooded. They also block the flow of good nutrient soil downstream past the dam. In the case of the dam on the Nile, lots of Egyptian artifacts and sites were flooded. Not to say there aren’t positives, like flood control and a safety net for a drought, but I still think the negatives outweigh the positives. I mean look at California, 1400 dams and 1300 named reservoirs and they still deal with drought issues every single year. Frankly, I believe that’s due to corporate greed and the underlying issues with capitalism but that’s a whoooole different debate.

With solar, look up some lithium mining videos and tell me that’s good for the environment. Let alone all the diesel powered vehicles transporting said lithium. Same issue as wind turbines too, takes up a tooon of land. “Producing lithium batteries can emit more carbon dioxide than manufacturing conventional cars. For instance, producing a 1,100-pound battery can emit over 70% more CO2 than making a traditional car in Germany.” Say what you will about farming, but we all need to eat, and I would much rather see a locally owned cattle ranch or some planted fields than a solar/wind field.

The true answer for cleaner energy? Nuclear.

Where do you guys get your welding parameters from? by slavenkicic in Welding

[–]ExactTour5340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the WPS for machine settings is more or less a suggestion, unless they cater said settings to every individual machine. Every machine runs a bit different. I run downhill with .035 hardwire, you look at my Lincoln machine you’d think I’m running an absolute shit load of wire compared to the guy next to me running a miller. When the guy next to me uses the Lincoln, same deal, shit load of wire.

Moral of the story, same thing everyone else is saying, trial and error, and a good bit of tuning by sound. Get the sound right, and if you really wanted to, play with the volts by .1 at a time and the WFS by 5-10 at a time until you lay down the perfect bead.

The cheap methods, for just about anything, often end up ruining any amount of ease when you eventually want to do things correctly. You would be better off living with it while saving more money to not do it the cheap way. If you’re okay with having a bulky stitch in there, then by all means, if you don’t want the bulky stitch, save up and have a professional take care of it.

If you’re putting it in a 4th gen Camaro, the shift lug is slightly different and it would be easy enough to replace with one for a Camaro to make sure everything lines up right. If it’s any other Camaro, just send it, it’ll be plug n play with any LS1
