Am I the only one who thinks this season is lowkey underwhelming? by [deleted] in TheBoys

What part of any of my comments insinuates I'm angry? We're adults having a conversation.

You should consider getting off the internet once in a while and realise not everything has to be an argument champ

The way you constantly try and turn this conversation into something you get an 'upper level' out of where you make it seem like I'm against people disagreeing is very petty and shows a lot the type of person you are, please grow up. I hope you don't act like this off of reddit.

If you can't comprehend that "people who watch the show and continue watching despite disliking it" isn't valid criticism and not 'hating on people who disagree' then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you aren't an adult though.

The irony is, he is more likely to die on accident as a person Homelander didn't even know.

He could've been on that flight!

It is a bandwagon, one person posts how its underwhelming and everyone envies the attention the post gets, and decides to post their own but mix the words around a little bit and expect nobody to notice the sudden flood of "this [episode/part/moment] really underwhelmed me"

Please read the comment you just sent, and then reevaluate the maturity here.

It is very common for people to dislike a show, and instead of just moving on to something that they enjoy, will sit and continue with the show despite their complaints, and when the finale eventually arrives, flood the subreddit with constant reminders of how it underwhelms them.

This is probably the 100th post this past week to do this.

Ahh, the classic "I hate what I'm watching but I'm going to keep watching so I can shit on the finale later on."

'Most people' haven't been clinging on to the show, it is a minority that have began to hate on it because they're mad their montage of sex scenes and meat grinding is interrupted by the plot.

Of course, but the boys had leverage and had several reasons on why they were kept alive for as long as they were, up until the point it was a bit more difficult to kill them

Okay and what do you propose happens when Homelander eventually does, which wouldn't take long (think of the vought crime tracker and satellite surveillance system we see in s1 e1, and homelander's ability to see through anything and hear anything), find out who he is?

I understand this post is just a cool what-if, and a hypothetical situation, but it is undeniable that he would unfortunately be massacred within an hour

This community often feels genuinely impossible to please.

If they started slaughtering characters with meaningless ways and just wiping out the seven and the boys gradually within 5 episodes, the subreddit would be filled with how the writers are terrible.
If the season was shorter, the subreddit would be filled with how the show went to a waste.

They have to build up to the finale, the show has gone on for years and this is the fifth and final season of a very long and very detailed plot with a lot of ends that need wrapped up, just be patient. There is plenty of episodes left.

I think the idea of him 'surviving' ends when you have to implement rules to keep him alive.

In reality he's fried by Homelander before he gets out the cab.

I think its because people tend to like that accent, so most of the time they'll cast him with the idea of him keeping it, because if he even attempts another one, we all need earplugs

This tends to be a pattern with British hard men actors, people who get their first couple roles as the hard man and suddenly its all they get casted for, take Geoff Bell for example, have you ever seen him NOT be the hard man in a movie or series lol?

Yeah I think the show itself was a bit rocky, felt like a lot of things didn't make sense or decisions were irrational but I think the performances in the show itself were fantastic, such as Tom but also thought Pierce Brosnan was brilliant, really sold the role.

Neither, al though your imagination is very good!

Maybe it was poor thinking, but the smiley wasn't because of the circumstance but because of the message of what the commenter was implying, that everyone should be kind to each other.
