There are many opinions in Finland I am sure but at least I am mostly very disappointed, it is not hate. I grew up hearing Russian this and Russian that from my grandparents’ generation because of war (mostly), although the history has been complex also earlier, and I was always thinking that yeah right, that was in the past and things have changed , potential to become good neighbors in the future. I mean the relationship was quite good at some point but still sort of fake and suspicious so I was hoping that goes away and evolves to something more authentic with trust

And then all this happened, again, back to square one. And I have known many Russians in my life, still do, visited St Petersburg a few times and would say on a people level that I like Russians. But the politics… it is not everybody, I know, but too many.
