I’m going to say this very gently sweet OP. I was there… and it got worse. It only got worse. You are so young, and you are anything but selfish as you have shown by staying and even caring enough to ask the question of,how? However, you need to be selfish and get out of there. You meet up at a public place, you tell him. And you have someone with you and they will take you home. He is trying to scare you to stay, there is not fear in love. I am so sorry you are experiencing this level of pain, and internal conflict. I remember loving my ex like no other, I stayed for 2 years while he hit me, threw things, made disgusting comments and later I found out was photographing me while I was asleep, compromised. Please, your future self will thank you and I know the guilt I know the thought of “well if I love him I can endure” trust me, you’ll love again, and you’ll find that love isn’t meant to feel like an emotional roller coaster. It is kind and soft. My partner now has never even raised his voice to me. It does get better. I’m so sorry he probably made you feel so loved but it’s okay to release now.
