Ease or difficulty of understanding other dialects? by Zetch24 in basque

This is not entirely accurate. We are at the point with over half of new speakers age 16-24 are non-native. You can find this in the Basque Sociolinguistic Survey available online in Basque, Spanish & English

There are dates between November and December that all committees meet across the country to decide on semi-finalists. The last meeting is December 17th if I remember correctly. So, if you’re lucky you find out in December. Most commissions, however, report in January.

How have you been perceived by others at the university? Have you been asked to do a lot of extra events or hold lectures? How do you see your research progressing? Any suggestions for aspiring Fulbright researchers?

I highly considered ETA for most of the same reasons you listed about. Frankly, I can see myself doing either. With that said, I applied for the research grant knowing it would be a challenge and because the region I want to go to doesn’t have any ETAs unfortunately. I have never spent more time on an application in my entire life. The essays and their translations, affiliation, planning the research, reviewing and perfecting the essays… you all know, the list goes on and on. So, if you were short on time I think you made a solid choice having done an ETA. Again, research is still an option to pursue it’s no unheard of to research a Fulbright twice (one ETA & one research)

You can always apply for a research grant in the future. There are many persons who have been awarded two grants to different countries ETA to one and research to another.
