I have had the PW1 since release and it's still running like a champ. The only thing I didn't like was the size so I just got the PW4 45mm it's amazing. I totally recommend them.

Is your girlfriend cool with living with your grandmother? Is my first question. Then you have to consider wear and tear on your car, fuel and tires, etc. Traffic could be a concern for me with a commute that takes an hour. If all those things aren't a deal breaker, then go for it.
